Considering they'd have to prevent every donater, ArenaNet person, mod, super mod, and Admin from posting, no.

It's not just you. Closed as there is already a thread.

You are welcome Dral. We know you guys work hard here and we appreciate it. Things happen, I think we can all survive without Guru for a day or two.

Hey, this keeps popping up every now and then and Google says Guru has "elements from the site www.xintuwangluo.com" which it says hosts malware. I also posted this in the GWGuru feedback page but it didn't appear so I posted a new one here.

False Alarm?

well I am one of them donators so we shall see if I mess up the thread by posting (though dral already has.....)

edit////its a wee bit slow, but I was able to re-access the page after I posted (though I got a you must wait 30 sec between posts error...when I had not even posted, but will take that over what it was)..
it seems to be working ok now....thanks!

Now that you have fixed the thread access problem, I have developed a new one or two.

1. AVG keeps giving a threat warning everytime I access a thread. - JS/Downloader

2. get a bar across the top with this
This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Remote Data Service Data Control' from 'Microsoft Corporation'. If you trust, blah blah blah

I'm sorry if I broke everything. I promise I'll never do it again. (Or I would if I knew what I did in the first place.)

Darcy, the AVG threat warning is just AVG. I went ahead and looked into this, it's not a virus just the way AVG is reading some script on the page. As for the other one.... I have no idea. I'm going to merge with the other thread though to just keep it on the list.

Darcy,
Item 2 is caused by a script that was entered in before the pages DOCTYPE (Nothing should be before the DOCTYPE, ever!) that referenced the website that kazi_saki mentioned.

I've asked a few people to look at the script and see what it does. No results yet. :\

This website is being used to spamed an exploit:

The JS/RealPlay!exploit was detected in ....\MS08011[1].HTM.
Machine: ...*blah*...
File Status: File was cured; system cure performed.

Also from my IE popup blocker, it says:

"This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Remote Data Services Data Control' from 'Microsoft Corporation.' If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here...

Of course I never trust any website that wishes me to install any RDS add on.

Darkspirit, what virus program did that pop up in? Also, IE is the only one throwing that error. Let me know what version of IE you are using.

IE8 will have that appear. IE7 most likely does the same. Anything that is IE6 or lower may execute the code without permission.

Yesterday I got the 'Contect encoding error' message on Firefox whenever I tried to preview a new thread, post or message. I got it when I posted a new thread and when I sent a new message, however the requests went through so when I reloaded my inbox the message had been sent.

Btw McAfee didn't have a problem with the site.. on both the sitechecker and antivirus.

Apparently people's profiles are messed up right now too, it shows no avatars in-profile and no additional information, everything is just blank.

I was worried about it when I had to re-log into guru, which is rare, but it's affecting everyone on my end.
