Vanquishing Hero Builds / Teams
Shiing!
Hey all.
I've been looking around for a long time for some help in Vanquishing some of the Canthan areas.
However, I've been unable to find a place that is a pure thread containing the builds that can be used for what area.
I reckon it'd be a good idea for people to post in here which teams/builds they found useful in what areas.
For example, you could post that to vanquish Xaquang Skyway, for instance, you could use x heroes and x henchmen.
Would just be nice to have a referance thread to view whenever anyone needs help. I'm currently struggling vanquishing with hero/hench in Cantha, and any build help would be awesome

Well basicaly I used triple necro build for Cantha... I was an ele so I used Ward against melee and stability for those pesky mages, and the rest filled with the 3 motivation chants aria and ballad and that elite one for a support. (Pain Inverter is a blast)
As for henchies I went 2 ele 2 monk and all was good

Usually I try the 3-Necro build with the same setup as you pretty much.
I usually get wiped by Ritualists, if anything. Are there any tips you'd be able to give regarding actual technique against foes? Especially areas in Kaineng with the Jade being pests.

honestly...there are few that have the patience to do a guide to every area for every game for every profession...
anywho...I used mostly (not sabs or ursan) 1monk 1 ele 1 nec heroes!
monk was WoH hybrid healer
ele was SH nuker
nec was either SS - with prot skill(s) / MM with warmongers
(sometimes swapped out nec for a war - for some additional tanking power - ran as quivering plague toucher)
I was BHA - so you run anything with a form of daze!!!
skyway - was easy....just make sure you eliminate the rit boss before the rest of the the mob catches up....[skill]ward against melee[/skill][skill]ward against elements[/skill] <<<both help but I used neither so ^^
just take both monk hench - ele hench and either mes or nec hench (!)
just flag your team apart - heroes 1,2,3 all at different parts hench somewere else - - - you take the aggro! easy...rest is simple nec boss was dead easy - pull the two ele guards and "twat it"...then just rush the nec boss kill the rit then ele then boss - train yourself with interupts easy!!!
------------
that strat works for all areas in most games - except a few areas....enjoy lol

I'll give it a go.
Whenever I aggro that Rit boss, it always turns into some huge overaggro fest. A group from miles away suddenly aggros and it turns into my team members getting spiked one by one.

For this Rit boss, it's easiest to flag Her/Hench near the two Guards on the bridge. You can run forward past the end of the bridge until the boss moves towards you. You can then join your Hero/Hench with the help of two guards and you get about 1-2 seconds of attacking the boss before the rest of his group joins him.
Also, be aware the mesmers carry Expel Hexes so using Pain Inverter on the ele's needs to be timed so they don't strip it. Best of luck.

I found that was the most important thing while i was vanquishing and doing my guardian titles, aggro control and pulling the right mobs at the right time is priceless!
And i must admit i did most of the areas and missions in all campaigns using sabs setup or a 3 fire ele team, it was great fun either way me being a necro mostly with support skills...

BFG
If my memory serves me well, I think I put [[shelter] and [[union] on a hero to help absorbed the Rit. boss spike, which does a bit of "ouchie" damage. If you've got it, crack off [[pain inverter] as quick as you can so that if you're running with an MM, the boss will pretty much get nailed for some 10(+)x80 damage. Squeeze [[enfeebling blood] in there somewhere too, as it does well as a support spell. Daze 'em, interrupt 'em, weaken 'em.
I'm not sure if it's just this one mob that's troubling you or if you're having a problem with over-aggro throughout your travels. This is where a longbow is your friend. Don't worry if it's not fancy, just think about function over form.
