Flashing Blades still a waste of elite due to critical defences... If you're attacking to make flashing blades work, then crit defecnes would stay up.
I like golden skull... but here comes the new golden builds... too powerful i think.
Gonna miss the damage from caltrops, but its a new snare, definately not overpowered.
Way of the assassin is a big buff for Scythe Sins, who didnt need a buff. Yes its a new elite, but with Sins remedy, and wearying strike who needs wounding?
Dunno y shadow form effected pvp as well...

The only one I like is Golden Skull Strike.

Flashing Blades might be more desirable in PvE although I doubt it.I imagine seeing it lot's in low level PvP where people are dumb enough to wack on FB Sins.
Not to drastic overall and most of the fail elites are still fail.
WotA and GSS will be fun to play around with though.

GSS>TF>GPS>BoS is pretty fun. Needs Zealous +5e Daggers though, kinda energy intensive.
Marverick
Flashing Blades might see some use on heroes seeing as they suck at using attack skills.

I might use flashing blades. a 4 second recharge lead and offhand coupled with DB is pretty similar to MS/DB. with the damage from the new flasing blades it might out-dps MS/DB
Epic Monkey Battle
[Way Of The Assassin][Golden Phoenix Strike][Horns Of The Ox][Falling Lotus][Twisting Fangs][Malicious Strike][Conjure Lightning][Res Sig]
kills very fast... could just auto attack a few hits, so you can take out malicious for crit defence, just a quick initial test in RA.

Hm... [Flashing Blades]+[Critical Defenses] may prove useful in farming physicals since as long as both of them are up they give 90%+ block and it sounds like FB "block effect" will apply itself on crit defences block as well...
On a second thought [Shadow Form] gives way better protection, so...

I'm incredibly excited to try out [Flashing Blades] tomorrow.

FB: smart like Glad's Defense. Back to the drawing board.
GSS: skips are always worthy. Daze is a bit short though, considering skips usually mean an attempt at instagibbing: this doesn't give bonus damage either.
HC: I like the snare being unconditional now, I'll definitely play around with this.
WotA: I went 'ZOMG WE HAZ AN IAS'. But I'm not such a fan of the Critical Strikes line in PvP, it's been a while since I made a build that specced more than 8. Bar compression worth the Elite slot? I honestly doubt it.

How about the usual anti-escape pull together with:
[build prof=A/Mo crit=12+1 dagger=12+1+1 healing=3][golden fox][wild s][death blo][critical agility][critical eye][critical defenses][flashing blades][live vicariously][/build]
Could make for some quick farming of melees.

Nothing changes for my DB sin, except SY! lasts longer
petrorabbit
I approve of the new changes.
FB looks fun to play with now
WotA doesn't suck now, but i doubt will replace CA with MS.
HC looks alot more attractive with its 2-part snare. Anything that makes them use 2 skills to get rid of 1 skill = win.
GSS looks like its going to open the door for more instagibs and whining will ensue.
Although SF's penalty was reduced, I still can't help but feel the damage nerf is unnecessary if they're going to make changes UW to compensate for the permafarmers. But, 33% is better than 50%. Still wish there was 0% damage penalty so i can still farm elite tomes efficiently.

The only assassin update that looks pretty good is the Golden Skrull update.
I'll have to test it out in RA someday...

way of the assassin needs to be moved to dagger mastery, to prevent people abusing it with other weapons.
RavagerOfDreams
way of the assassin is op'd and should be nerfed....
anyway like the golden skull strike one

By "abuse", can you explain how so called "abusable" that is?

Crit Scythe becomes stupid in pvp. Not only can they stack crit with WotA and WotM, but they get a big boost in IAS. In pve, they had critical agility, and in pvp they had whirling charge, which required points into wind prayers. Now they can hit 33% IAS without investing into wind prayers in pvp.
Bowstring Badass
Sad to say this but ANET strikes out again...
Honestly the attacking part of flashing blades needs to be taken out.... Hidden Caltrops - not to bad but still other elites seem more appealing. Golden Skull Strike - Its alright needs to fit better in attack chains imo. Shadow Form - meh. Way of the Assassin - Nerf this. This buff made this skill to good to give up. Makes me feel bad when I can attack faster with out going /w or /d on a sin. -Makai-
I'm wondering if [flashing blades] could be useful in farming physical enemies, especially in HM. Granted, you'd lose the typical Moebius + Death Blossom combo, but the increased mob IAS might help mitigate it. Plus, you wouldn't need [critical defenses], giving a slot for [Dwarven Stability]. Just an idea...I might try it in Old Ascalon HM with my A/R.
petrorabbit
LOL, they listened to my WotA suggestion to make it dagger only. The IAS was nice at +30%, but 20% is better than nothing.
Smilin' Assassin
mm .. after playing a bit in PvE and light PvP ..
[skill]Way of the Assassin[/skill] IAS not really needed in PvE, cos of [skill]Critical Agility[/skill], but much appreciated in enchant stripping areas .. in those situations I'd use it even if it cost 10 and had 20recharge/12duration ~ won't replace [skill]Wounding Strike[/skill] on my scythebar, tho ye, am comparing one brken skill with another .. ~ to fix I'd recommend removing the IAS, and keeping everything else (ie, no enchant required), &/or bumping up the crit chance ..imo if Sins were gonna get an IAS it oughta be on [skill]Locust's Fury[/skill] ~ thus limited to daggers and also not abusable by other profs [skill]Flashing Blades[/skill] still a bit sucky, only useful in PvE and even then only in certain limited circumstances (vs physicals with no stance removal), once triggered any smart foe will kite really the only one I'll use out of these with any regularity will be [skill]Golden Skull Strike[/skill], am still having a play .. [skill]Hidden Caltrops[/skill] I like the dual snare, not bad even with minimal investment in Shado ~ the secondary crip is NOT affected by a crip mod tho :{ Dwragon82995
Aw they already changed WotA to have a slower IAS and only work with daggers. Now i can't use it for Crit Bow/Scythe since i dont have EotN for WotM.
fireflyry
WotA is basically back in the bin now imo.
CA still owns PvE and +18% IAS at 13 Crit at the cost of my elite slot in PvP? No thx. Who the heck runs 13 crit in PvP anyway? moriz
if i don't need to spec into a 3rd attribute line, i most certainly will run 13 crit.
Bobby2
Aww, c'mon. Find me 1337 utility skillz in the CritS or Weapon Mastery lines we use.

Fair call, I guess it's personal preference and subjective opinion.
I personally can't fathom a justification for ever running more than 8 in PvP but I take care of e-gain with dagger attacks and don't use crit triggers. Each to their own. Bobby2
I know one; Moebius Breeze
Crit 12+1 Dagger 12+1+1 Healing 3 [lms][exhausting assault][moebius strike][hoto][twisting fangs][restful breeze][shadow walk][dash] Particularly nasty before Shadowstep and HotO nerfs, widely used, etc. AcousticMeanie

I would love to use it, unfortunately other PVE skills are just too good...
moriz
hidden caltrops is probably one of the best single target snares in the game now. the only spell that can remove both snare effect is divert hexes, and we all know how often that gets run.

I still like [[Icy Shackles] better.
moriz
hidden caltrops is better on a rit runner, since you'll also get to use dark escape and dash.
