Hi I'm about to be new to Guild Wars and I just was wondering which one would be the best to start off with. Are all the stories connected or separate? I know Nightfall and Factions are stand alone but I just wanted to see which people liked most. Thanks.

Prophecies is probably the best to start with, as it's got a gentler learning curve and many skills you can get by doing quests.

if you plan to eventually get them all then start with Prophecies (where it all began!), if you just get one go with Nightfall (hero companions make life soooooo much easier).

Ok thanks I read that whole explanation of all of them One last thing; which has the best/largest battles? Or are they all equally fun?

There aren't battles, there are missions and quests and dungeons.
