Update - Friday August 8
Skill Updates

* Glimmering Mark: skill description has been updated to reflect that the hex ends on skills, not spells.
* Way of the Assassin: this skill now only works with daggers; reduced attack speed increase to 5..20%.

Bug Fixes

* Fixed a bug that caused the Flashing Blades block effect to trigger when not attacking.
* Fixed a bug that caused Confusing Images to remain active after casting a spell.
* Fixed a bug that caused Incendiary Arrows, Barrage, and Volley to occasionally not fire an arrow at the target.
Fixed a bug that caused "By Ural's Hammer" to fail to consider Spirits as allies.

"By Ural's Hammer" is a failzor.

Btw - should Spirits be considered as Allies? I mean, they are already dead.

Does "By Ural's Hammer!" count minions too then? If so I might actually use it.

Duh, of course they're. Allies are whoever aids you in battle or whatever, correct? Then if your spirits(don't think they're referring to enemy spirits as well here) aids you in battle, they're your allies, how hard is that?

I used this skill even before the change. Now this just means I have a permanent gladiator's defense.

As a fan of the assassin, no, it wasn't.

The IAS is a bit low at 13 critical strikes, in my opinion, but the critical damage possibility makes up for it. Assassins were meant to use daggers and I stick by that. I never use any other weapon. Just like how rangers should keep using their bow.

Because God forbid the game allows us to be versatile. I don't know why we're even allowed secondary professions!

No, it wasn't. It went from viable to overpowered to good. Before Thursday's update is was viable, and it's currently better than it used to be.

WotA was stupid broken and needed fixing. This doesn't mean that there are other things that are abusive like ranger expertise and so on. But there was no way a/d a/ps should be allowed to exist in that form.

You new to this game? Rangers use Wounding Strike in PvP. I've seen Sins use staves for the Deadly Arts Soj builds. Those are just a few minor examples. To sum it all up. You don't know what you are talking about. The fact we have secondary professions throws your whole logic out the window.

You quick to judge? I've seen them all. I don't like them is all I'm saying. I come from the time where Wammos used to be everywhere.

Used to work quite well, as long as you used them to complement your warriorness rather than trying to take over the Elementalist's role.

Still does, except the builds are largely overshadowed by the current Warrior cookie-cutters that don't really leave enough room to have fun with secondaries.

i think you people on page 1 misread it, they fixed it so Flashing Blades only works when you're attacking, before it was blocking 100% of the time even if you were dancing etc. so yeh.

None but Fools [nuts]

Way of the Assassin nerf is good. Thanks for adressing this matter quickly, Anet.

Edit:
I played an elementalist through Prophecies with an all-Prohecies bar using nothing but Hammer attacks and aftershock. It was really funny. Using 2nd classes for other weapons is one of the coolest things in the game. It's just that some combinations can be very powerful.

Normally I would agree somewhat, but it can be rewarding (even .... *gasp!* .... fun!) to mix things up a bit. Last night I was in a group with a scythe wielding Rit - which is painful to watch since the female Rit looks as if that scythe weighs ten tons as she carries it! - and an axe wielding Paragon. Somehow it worked.

The WotA nerf was good, it was ridicoulously imbalanced with Way of the Master and Critical Eye on a Scythesin.
