What do you know about this...

Year ago or so i read an topic related to some kind of penality points related to monster drops.
Person who made that post came with a theory that you get those points each time you farm for too long in certain area , so that area gives u less worthy drops. But if you go to do some other activity in meanwhile like doing missions, you can work off those penality points
1.Now I am wondering does any 1 als here remember that thread (If you can refer me to that thread
2.How do you call this (I forgot I was away for quite a long)
3.Do you think its true (Im quite convinced it is,and it seems like most of online games work the same way if it turns out to be true)

jiggles
Bullshit. Thats how i call it. There ARE anti farming codes in place to stop people totally raping certain areas, but penatly points and that. Not really anets style.

THx jiggles, any other oppinions on this?
Darcy
THERE IS NO ANTI-FARMING CODE. Ask any real farmer.
There is just loot-scaling. And luck whether good or bad. Personally, my luck is usually pretty dismal. Although I have gotten about 20 black dyes in 2-1/2 years.
Here is a link to the Loot page in the un-official wiki, so someone cannot bring out the "they have to say that" argument.

Total BS.
I have farmed the first 2 waves of snowman about a gazillion time. Drops are influence by luck and thats it. I can do 10 run dropping only white crap then gold start coming. Somedays its lots of golds, other days lots of monk tomes.
the poster of that tread you re referring to should use of of theese:

its all luck......some of my characters ALWAYS get good drops....some always get crap (my canthan monk refuses to play since she rarely gets drops and then its always junk---sometimes not even worth it to pick up and merch!)....
it really depends on when you enter the zones and such.....not how many times you have done it.

moot point: issue that has been rendered irrelevant.....
something being moot means that its not worth talking about basically because of other things that have been said about it.
the poster of moot see 3 means that there is no reason to discuss the items...see item 3 for the relevant reason....
sorry thats as plain english as I can put it (and your grammar is ok).

yeah there used to be a "code" in place thatwould reduce your drops after you went into the same area too many times, but this feature was removed with the lootscaling update
