Seeking Tasty Pigeons [mmm]
Hey all!
I've had Guild Wars for just under 3 years - and enjoyed most of it. However, around 8 Months ago i took a break for to allow time to other commitments. Most of my GW days have been spent GvGing, of course PvEing and HAing at times. I retruned to play again a month or so ago, and kicked around with friends - we then decided to form our own Guild, mainly because we had the most wonderful name to stick on it; Seeking Tasty Pigeons [mmm]. You would only be fooling yourself by denying that, come now.
We had no absoloute plan for what the Guild would be, only a want for people to play with (we had all taken time off from the game, in varying extents). So, we went to LA & KC to spam for members with whom we could PvE, perhaps even rely on to not annihilate our magnificent ventures in FoW and AB. At least to entertain us in Guild Chat. Our hopes were misfounded. Some of these people could not contribute to a population, never mind a Guild.
Fortunately we had also managed to pull in a few very experiencd firends - in both PvE & PvP. Within 4 hours of the Guild being formed we already had a full alliance, with us as leaders, and a decent number of members. Most of those Guilds & Members have been kicked, or left. Harsh? No, they were smelly, and this game is no fun whilst smelly folk crawl at your feet. So, at the moment, we have ~20+ members. We have joined a pretty nice Alliance - large, always active, 9mil+ KF, owning Seaferers Rest, i believe. They do alot of AB/FFF/Hm etc, and seem to be more than willing to help out with things.
Regardless, we have decided on a change of direction - we really only want people who do HM FoW/UW/DoA etc, and people who AB. A 50/50 ratio of each should work well, with both always having people to play with (also, obviously ABers will do HM at times etc, and vice versa), and we wont have any problem with finding/forming an Alliance which owns a town, faction is easy to get in AB, without effort. With a large enough active member list, faction flows no matter what. We will most likely join an established alliance, rather than continue to evolve our own, simply because its a responsibility i dont wish to carry.
The current Guildies have been told of the changes - those who want to stay and feel they fit the criteria are more than welcome to, but i suspect most will leave. The friends i spoke of earlier are all officers and will remain so, all new recruits will be members (perhaps aside from a couple, if they want to help out with recruitment, and we trust them). So, we have i think 9 reliable officers, now we need ~90 members
We have a vent server, though not large enough for 90 people - we'd really only expect it to be used for PvP, or particularly tricky Elite missions etc, though all are welcome (Our Alliance has a large server which can be used if needed, too). Also Forums - though only created a few days ago, and are pretty empty for now.
We have had the game long enough to know not to take things too seriously -there will be no rules in the Guild, no required daily faction dump for ABers, no Guild Chat rules, talk of Wammoth Genitals if you must. If this scares you, then dont join. The only action taken will be to kick AWOL players. Anyone expecting to not be online for a period of 3 or 4 days should post on the Forums telling people so, otherwise they will be removed.
We will also be recruiting a few solid PvPers (GvG and a little HA), a seperate post will be made in the appropriate forum for that.
So, to summarise we are open to;
Anyone who partakes in HM Fow runs, UW runs, DoA runs etc.
Anyone who enjoys AB and plays it reasonably often.
We are looking for people from all time zones. People of any Age are welcome, though blatant spaztards may be dealt with.
So, you can either PM me on the Guru forums, or reach any of the following in-game, and unless you scare us, you will be invited and welcomed by our massive flabby arms.
