I've been thinking of creating a new Elementalist in Prophecies just for the hell of it. I've thought of few names but I'm not certain on their likeliness to get reported by others and receive a temporary ban. For such reasons, I'd like for some forum goers with experiences regarding inappropriate name bans to give me some feedback. Here are the few I've thought of:
My Wand Up Yours
Magic Wand Yielder
Three Inch Wand
Seymour Uranus
Currently, I'm thinking 'My Wand Up Yours' would be the safest as it doesn't really have a sexual connotation. Well, maybe it does in a certain way, but it's not how I would utilize it in interactions with other people.
How inappropriate are these names?

You can get banned for having any name, offending or not.
Brawling Headbutt = banned. ([brawling headbutt])
Sadistic Signet = banned ([sadist's signet])
And a few other beyond ridiculous ones that are not offensive in any way shape or form. There is no name you can be safe with. You can really only hope you don't get to feel ANet's unjust oppression yourself

Anet is gay. They ban for every little thing that happens. If someone reports you, they temp ban. They should put on the box "no kids allowed" or "no sensitive people allowed".

The easiest solution of not getting reported for an offensive name, is to come up with something that isn't immature such as the names you've stated.

Name a character Combibo Meus Gallo.
It means "Suck My RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO" in Latin, but the average player won't know that, and most likely neither will ArenaNet.

Another way to make sure your name isn't bannable is to go find a group of young children and mention the name to them. I believe that most accurately represents the majority of the GW population. Base your character's name judgement off their reaction.
For instance if you have some wapanese name like uhh... "ishi kokori", mention it to a group of 4th graders and they'll undoubtedly go "BWAHAHAHA YOU SAY COOOOOOOOOOOOCK". Then you know you're in for a ban sooner or later. It works trust me.

1 and 4 would probably get a few reports...because immature little kids are like omg he refrenced a part of the male anatomy thats just a part of life...but the other 2 would be pretty safe. "Feel my Magic Wand" might be borderline, but eh...its funny so go for it

there was a thread a few...ago about someone who was forced to rename his character with that planet name...so I would assume (yeah that would get banned too- assume) that anything with the U planet would get the ban stick as well....the name you picked should NOT be an issue with 99.9% of the guildwars populace....now I cant speak for that .1% who are waaaay tooo anal, preoccupied, prejudice etc with names ....but you should be ok.

so i really dont know wheather it will be ban or not in guild wars. i am new to guild wars myself. so i dont really know how harsh their name system banning will be.
personally i dont enjoy seeing a name with sentences but it wont make me punch someone face jus for it and i dont see why anyone would ban them just for names like that. as long as it aint something with bad words on it such as names with words with:
- f***er
- pus** inserter
- n00b suck my d**k
- ect....
overall jus not words or phrase with something that attacks others. although your names is kindda aiming at someone but it is ok with me since it is a soft word and a bit of comedy sense to it.

Yes, there are a few questionable bans like brawling headbutt, but by and large, they are quite appropriate. You are just trying to be a moron. Success!

I'm not very fond of putting disclaimers on my opening posts telling people who have nothing to contribute to the thread to just move along. In this case, I simply expected ones without much experiences regarding name bans to simply chuckle and continue doing whatever the hell they were doing before reading the post.
Yet, there you are. Not only have you expressed that you feel the absolute necessity to report me, it appears that you'd like nothing better than for me to get off Guild Wars servers permanently.
How was I able to offend you so horribly simply by giving my character a silly name? Do you feel the urge to rid Guild Wars of any silly names Anet might find to be inappropriate? Did you simply assume I was a pre-teen trying to wrack havoc on the PuGs with my foul character name? Actually, I think when you realized, like everyone else, that these names were incredibly silly to the point of sounding very immature, you typed up your reply without even thinking about why you were writing it. You clearly didn't disapprove of people making immature names and wanted to express it in some form or fashion. "I'm gonna report you! I hope you get permanently banned," clearly is the best of to do it.
On a different note, although I did create an elementalist by that name, I found Pre-Searing to be much more stale than I remember. Just running from Ascalon City to Ashford Abbey was enough for me. I decided to start a Dervish in Nightfall instead, however, with a quite appropriate name, this time.
