green drop rules?

I just farmed exuro flatus in the domain of secrets about 50-60 times and didn't see his staff drop once. I put the copy of the staff I already had in storage out of superstition and went out again. I got the staff on the second try!

Are there some hidden rules about when greens drop that I'm not aware of?

If it took you 52 attempts, that is just under 2% success rate.. which is roughly 1.8% better than the drop rate for most greens. The program is simply rolling dice.
