Anyways, when I enter a map, the terrain sometime doesn't texture properly. Like, a tree, for example. I entered Sunqua vale with a new character, and I looked and saw a tree, it didn't texture correctly and just looked like an ugly 2D shape with color. Anyone to fix this problem? It doesn't happen commonly and starts to appear correctly as I go near it. I would just like to fix it. Before you start shooting your mouth and say " GO GET BETTER COMP AND NEW DRIVERS PLX"
Know this, my computer exceeds the recommended requirement of guild wars BY FAR and I have no trouble playing this game at max with 40+ FPS and I have ALL the latest drivers for my hardware.
Katsumi says: Try and be a little less vague with thread titles in the future please. Thanks!
Problem.

Listen my friend: If you are having graphical problems and you post on a technical forum asking for help or advice, then the #1 Rule is POST YOUR SYSTEM. The more information that you give, the better chance of getting your problem solved.
If this is happening in multiple areas, then there is a chance your gw.dat file is corrupted and may need to be replaced/re-installed. Going by the limited information provided, that seems most likely.
good luck and welcome to GURU

how close were you to that tree?
GW will replace everything with 2D stand-ins if you are at a set distance away, and will "blend" it back to 3D as you get closer. there's no way to turn this off, since it is how the game engine works.
if you are standing RIGHT NEXT to the tree and it is still in 2D mode, then there might be a problem. if you are some distance away (around radar range), then this is normal.

Is it a new computer/new monitor? I know when I got a 22" TFT I had this problem - turned out that it's more noticeable at higher resolutions. Live with it :/

Just because you can play at a high FPS, doesn't mean there aren't problems.
Agreed with moriz. You could re-download the .dat file, but that doesn't really sound like the problem.
