New drivers:
Quote:
GeForce Driver v177.83 with PhysX support
This driver supports NVIDIA® GeForce® 8-series, 9-series, and 200-series desktop GPUs, including the newly released GeForce 9800 GTX+, 9800 GT, and 9500 GT GPUs. The driver adds support for NVIDIA® PhysX™ acceleration on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory. NVIDIA PhysX System Software v8.08.01 is automatically installed with this driver package.

Warmonger – Full Game
Using NVIDIA® PhysX™ technology, Warmonger breaks down the static game play of past-generation shooters. New rigid-body technology and procedural destruction of game environments set the stage for dynamic content creation that is truly stunning and will literally change the way people think and play. Destroy walls, floors and whole buildings to open up new paths, or close existing ones. Destructive power is more than eye candy, it’s a tactical weapon in Warmonger.
Tech demos, eg:
Quote:
The Great Kulu: Technology Demo
The Great Kulu is an interactive technology demonstration featuring a captured sea creature brought to life using NVIDIA® PhysX™ soft body simulation technology. The demo allows users to interact with Kulu and watch how its soft flesh interacts with the environment as it chases you around your ship. The flesh movements and movements of other soft body objects are simulated in real-time using PhysX technology, to create this "soft and squishy" experience.
Minimum Recommended Graphics: GeForce GTX 260

I am downloading everything now and look forward to trying it all out.

Edit: My bad, not Big Bang II.

Yeah. Basically it does calculations "folding" proteins that are uploaded to scientific researchers. Folding projects aren't new, but it is only recently they have been able to run on GPUs. The advantage of GPUs over CPUs is they complete works units much faster.

See http:[email protected] and http://folding.stanford.edu/ for better explanations and more information.

Here's a screenshot of me running the client.

A link would have been good, EG - that's not from the standard nVidia driver downloads site (and it uses a damn java download manager - ah well)

So, has anybody given it a shot? If so, opinions? ( for the driver and the Warmonger game )

Warmonger I found sub-standard. PhysX still has a long way to go.

Check your motherboard drivers and BIOS. If you have yet to update to the newest motherboard drivers and BIOS, this is most likely what is causing the issues.

Oh, and this pack was quite impressive. I seriously need to expedite snagging some GTX 260s or 280s from the testing lab.
