Maybe I'm over-thinking things, but I'd like to know anyways.

That article doesn't even have the words "Guild Wars 2" in them so there won't be a delay unless Arena Net screws up somewhere along the line of production.

it's an article about profit
this is kinda interesting tho
talking about their new titles within two to 3 years
so this will kinda give you a small lead on when GW2 will be released
even tho you can only guess at a year and no specific time
this is kinda interesting tho

"In order to maintain our ongoing development cycles and a diverse game portfolio, multiple games are in development currently across all NCsoft studios," commented NCsoft chief financial officer Jaeho Lee. "We anticipate publishing these new titles within the next two to three years, during which we believe we'll maintain NCsoft's status as a leader in the global on-line game market." |

I assume the future game projects mentioned in the last paragraph are NCSoft's in-house developed games. Developement for GW2 is in the hands of Anet, NC is the publisher.

Bad servers i think is just irrelevant to all of this.. and slower update releases could be, but i think some of the people who work on gw1 updates and the developers for gw2 might be different people. I have no idea on that though.
This could very well mean an even later release date for GW2, because with all those competitors mentioned it's got to put extra stress on the team to make a clean cut game, and to make it the absolute best they can. Or maybe it'll mean a faster release to be in time as far as release dates to be out there while the competitors release also... there is really no telling o.O

I'm thinking the same thing though, this could be BAD or nothing at all. I really wish we had some confidince from a GM or something...we need it.
XD
Thoughts, Please?

NCSoft != Anet.

People are trying to find the hidden message in the article when there isn't any. Here's the summary of the article:
* We didn't make as much profit this quarter but sales are up.
* We blame the cost of developing new games as the reason why we don't have as much profit.
* These new games are expected to be released in two or three years.
All you can vaguely interpret from that is that Guild Wars 2 won't be released until two or three years from now... Which is what everybody on here knew anyway. How are you extrapolating that Guild Wars 2 is going to be "delayed" from such a vague article?

Just seeing what people think.
Yes, it's very vauge....indeed.

Anet is a wholly own subsidiary of NC Soft. Therefore they are one of the studios referred to. On the other hand, NC Soft owns or supports several studios.. Just look at the plaync website to get an idea.
They haven't made as much lately as they'd like for various reason, a large part of which that a lot of their studios are in the middle of developing new games. They are effectively spending money here and not making yet, but expect all the currently developing titles to be published and hopefully making profit in the next couple years or so. GW2 is only one title out of the lot.
Aion, for example, has been in development for ages now, and will only start actually making money by the end of this year, after who knows how much has been invested over the last several years.
Basically it all boils down to, things are ok, if not great, but we should be just peachy in a few years after all these titles get published.

How would this make GW2 be delayed? This would make it released earlier, if anything, although I doubt it will have much of an effect, if any.

Dr Strangelove
FTA: those games greatly outpaced the publisher's remaining offerings, with City of Heroes/Villains pulling in KRW 5.7 billion ($5.5 million), Guild Wars churning out KRW 5.1 billion ($4.9 million), and Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa posting a mere KRW 2 billion ($1.9 million).
It's pretty pathetic when Guild Wars, a 3.5 year-old game with no subscription fees is bringing in more than double the revenue of Tabula Rasa, a relatively new game with subscription fees.

Article gives some credence to the other thread in Off Topic, but I see no other relation to GW2 or anything about delays.
