So I was reading the quest, haven't done it yet, but it looks and reads like Dwayna comes out of no where and just takes Ural away. Why would Dwayna do this?

"My brother, Ural Highstone, was once in the Stone Summit, but he reformed and has become a follower of the human god" From the wiki it seems like he accepted Dwayna as his god, not the great dwarf or whatever. Wouldn't this please her?

I'm confused.

The impression I get is that Ural is actually killed at the end of the quest (scripted deaths, don't you hate them?) and Dwayna makes a personal appearance to shepherd him to the afterlife. Orozar isn't blaming Dwayna so much as it being the typical "Why did they have to die?" cry. Apparently, Ural isn't Chosen or possessing of whatever quality determines who can be resurrected and who can't.

Ural dies in the quest and Dwayna's Avatar comes to take Ural to Dwayna's Realm, instead of the Great Forge or Underworld.

It's simply Dwayna taking care of her followers.

And Draxynnic, lore-wise, there is no [Resurrection Signet], or any resurrecting at all except by special means (like the Envoys bringing back the players). Resurrection was added for the game-play purposes.

Not exactly. Resurrection was used in the official lore story "The Battle For Khylo" (A monk ressurects Devonas father, Mordakai). That would count for something.

Quote:
"Mordakai!" From the walkway atop the castle, Burian watched the warrior disappear under the assault of nearly a dozen Zealots of Shiverpeak.

Stepping behind the protection of the crenellations, the monk closed his eyes, lowered his head, and began chanting a prayer to Dwayna. His words were smooth and mellifluous, a sharp contrast to the harsh clangs and screams below. Lifting his hands into the air, Burian finished his prayer.

"Breathe life back into the fallen. The miracle of rebirth…"

A flash of blue-white light surrounded Mordakai, and his body disappeared from the ground.

True, I forgot about that. Although, it seems that being able to resurrect is very rare, or else Rurik, Saidra, Togo, Ural, and all those other NPCs that died would have been brought back.

It's kind of hard to tell the whole thing about resurrection in the lore sense as there are few instances where there is a resurrection in game, in the storylines it only happens in Factions (by the Envoys and then Shiro coming back).

As far as I can remember, lore-wise, the Battle of Khylo is the only other reference of resurrection other then those two in Factions. Although I do have feeling there is a quest with a NPC being resurrected, but I cannot recall. Think it was in Nightfall.

But the instructor in Factions also refers to "left clicking" and other gameplay mechanics, so I think we really have to consider such instruction as being outside the lore.

Theres Gameplay Mechanics and then theres Lore. What your talking about falls into the gameplay mechanic catagory.

Mordakai was not chosen. I doubt its limited to that. All major characters that are killed (Rurik ect..) are killed in conditions that would make it very hard for a simple ressurection spell.

I know I take those rules from D&D, but I have always reasoned rezzing as being a very powerfull healing spell bringing a player from near-death to fighting-fit, the body must be intact (mostly) and accessible and the soul must not be taken by the envoy and be willing to come back.
In Guild Wars we have Rurik who is buried, thus making his body unretreavable(sp?)
Saidra is killed in a fight whose point is to allow you to flee,
Togo's death was part of a ritual (making his sould potentially consumed/emprisoned in the spell's result aka Shiro's new body).
About all the minor deaths, the only way to explain that they are not rezed is that they are indeed rezzed later or that resurecting is a difficult and thus rare spell.

About the resurection at the battle of Khylo, Rebirth could be interpreted as a Healing spell which would also bring back the body. ANd even if, in-game, they take 6 seconds to cast, that doesn't mean casting one in the lore would be 6 seconds. I would have been tempted to give over 1 minute of praying, but with Khylo, I'd say 20 to 30 seconds.
