Armor Upgrades in Kilroy's Punch-Out

With set Energy and health, I know that there's no point using upgrades which affect those. But I've been wondering; Do runes like Brawlers, which increase armour, and other runes like that wotk in this dungeon?

I've checked the Wiki and asked around in Gunnar's Hold, but no one seems to know.

To answer the OP's Question, in my best belief, No they do not.

I used them, why wouldn't they work?

I go through Kilroy's a lot to farm materials. I'm almost positive that +AR MODs do work, albeit slightly. Using a full set of Nightstalkers, I notice I take more damage when not attacking.

I think they do as well as any added Dagger mods to the brass knuckles

When Kilroy gave gold knuckies as a prize at some point, when I got Factions I decided to up my dagger mastery and give a re-go....I failed, got my ass kicked

I seem to do better with the bog standard ones lol
