I don't know if I am the only one, but it is kind of annoying to click on search and have search box form about 3-4 inches below the link?

I noticed that as well, never got around to posting it though. It happens on user options as well when you click above the avatar.

It's a known issue that's been around ever since we started these forums up and skinned them to the way they are now. No one's really sure, to my knowledge, what's causing it nor how to fix it.

I believe the displacement of the popup boxes is about equal to the height of this graphic:
Coincidence? Is it possible that the code that calculates the position of the pop-ups is adding the height of the header to coordinates that have already had the height of the header added in, thus it's being added twice?

Thats a pretty good guess, this has got me pretty intrigued now. I used vbulletin for year(s) and never had the problem.

Its an odd artifact caused by the original skin the guru skins were based on. I believe zeeg was able to fix it on WoWGuru, so I will have him take a looky here.

It's a javascript problem. I have no idea what caused it (maybe the banner) but you can easily fix it by editing your forum scripts.
I admin a vB forum too, maybe I'll look into the files to see where you can fix it.
