What professions make up the biggest percentage of the GW population?

It really seems to vary according to the campaign. I like to play the lesser-used professions, like ritualists. In my experience, Dervishes can be bought at fifteen cents a truckful in Nightfall, same goes for Assassins in Factions and Warriors in Prophecies.

All'n all:
Warriors: 25%
Monks: 25%
Female Ele: 10%

The remaining 40% we can spread out through the other professions.
Mesmer being the least used class.
I only base this from my own experience.

From my experience, everyone and their mother plays Warriors.

Quite annoying when I have to accommodate for the 2-4 Warriors that I get whenever I do a guild run of some mission/dungeon/etc.

Necros seem to be breeding like rabbits recently, but Dervish, Warriors and Elementalists are still by far the most common. Monks should be common since they're so needed, but it really doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of them.

Of my experience, Necromancer, Warrior, and Rangers seem to be the most popular. Elementalist right under that.

In later areas Assassins and Mesmers are by far the LEAST popular (ninja-fans get sick of dying a lot *from inability to realize 'sin =/= tank* and delete, and most people don't like Mesmers).

The others are spread out as semi-popular.

I'm gonna have to /agree that warriors and ele are the most common, followed by rangers and necros, followed by monks and derv, then paras, then sins, then very least of all a ritualist or mesmer. Or maybe it just seems that way.

To answer this post reliably, a census must needs be undertaken. Poll, anyone?

As for me, my Main is a Warrior, I have a Necro farmer, I'm working on my Monk, I have a Perma-Pre Warrior, and I have an Ele, Ranger, and Derv as Mules...

It's not that there aren't Monks out there, it's that they don't want to have to PUG it all game, dealing with people who tend to overextend, overaggro, and are far from tactical in their approach. Most Monks I do see, admittedly, are already in a group, leading me to believe that aside from the rare few that actually enjoy being a (primarily) Healing/Prot class, most mainstream Monkeys are in established Guilds rather than small Guilds or Guildless...

guild? I am supposed to have a guild?

monks....everyone has one ...esp with black fow and choas gloves...(not me, dont usually play warrior either).

eles are popular as well as necros...I tend to agree that mesmers get no love (have 3 of them) as they are not the easiest class to play and require THINKING which most of the kids now dont want to do----

sins are hard to play WELL ---you may see many of them, but still not as popular as the core classes.

rangers are pretty much on everyones account somewhere---lots of people's first character was a ranger (my 2 guildees both made rangers first, one still ONLY plays his ranger).

paragons and dervishes are newer, and paragons are more of a support class so like rits and such dont get as much air time....

in my experience i would say:
from most to least
warriors-its the easiest to play C+Space=owned
Eles- the big numbers bring in a lot of eles
Monks- how many of you haven't seen a monk? everywhere you go you'll see one and 55ing
necros- who doesnt like to raise zombies?
rangers- big numbers because of old popular bars like splinter barrage
dervishes- idk, maybe its the cool looking forms or w/e not sure
sins- the recent updates(before the nerfs) of SF bought in a lot of sins to rape the innocent dream riders and mindreblades.
paragons- low population of paras because some people seems to think they suck
ritualist-there like inferior monks in resto, but they do have their uses( have you ever seen a rit barrage or a spirit strength rit hit a huge mob?
mesmers- same as paras but even worse rep, also it actually require thinking and reflexes, which many people seem to lack.

I think in so far out of my whole GW time, I've seen like 20 Mesmers. And most were in PVP. :/

Warrior/Ele/Monk - 1st
Ranger/Necro/Dervish - 2nd
Rit/Sin/Paragon/Mesmer - 3rd

Too bad my two favorite classes are the least seen. ;P

It's ideas like that which make them lower on the "GLF" Totem Pole.

Anyhow, I'd agree that Rits, Paragons and Mesmers are the least seen. Assassins are more common these days thanks to SF. Damn farmers making my favorite classes less indie...oh well.

I think almost every GW player has a warrior of some sort, a monk and an ele. But nowadays everyone has a sin aswell (perma sf). Rangers are also a must.
But i think most have a warrior since 50% wear fow so they have been around for a while .

What Darcy said.

Looking at the poll, looks like you all are wrong.....ranger seems to be the favorite.
