Assassin with a bow?
The Sovereign
Would this A/R combo work well at all? I don't know either profession intimately, but I am deeply curious.
Bowstring Badass
It's not great. But other people will argue. Stick to daggers.

I have often been thinking of using a bow with my assa (Critbarrage or similar)
because I die like 10+ times everytime I hit Realm of Torment with daggers..
I know assassins don't have very low armor and such. But I still never ever manage to survive.. I have preety much given up hope for my assa
But yeah, it works. But if you manage to survive while using daggers, stick to them.

It works if you're bad/going for survivor

The basic build goes something like:
[Barrage][Critical Agility][Critical Eye][Way of the Master][empty][empty][empty][empty]
When I ran it for a very short while I added skills of my preference:
[build prof=A/R crit=12+1+1 marks=12][Sharpen Daggers][Barrage][Distracting Shot][Savage Shot][Assassin's Remedy][Critical Agility][Critical Eye][Way of the Master][/build]
Is it decent? Kinda-sorta. Is it really worth running over daggers? Depends on how bored you are with them. Not really IMO.

Eh, for bow, I'd probably go disrupting accuracy to shutdown a target, possibly bring incendiary arrows for multi-interrupt at high % chance. Not great, but a bit better imo than barrage

Degen in PvE is laughable at best.

After playing the whole Barrage deal for a while, I came to realize that there was a hell of alot of better options for my Sin.

[Disrupting Accuracy] is amazing...but once you get past that, A/R is more just a gimmick than anything else

**Edit** Sorry Daisuko, beat me to the puch.

With a group of players, you are probably better off with daggers. Except for Realm of Torment.
Solo with heroes and henchies, few things to think about.
1. You do not have to be a A/R to carry a longbow! Any old longbow, I myself like those no attribute bows from a starter area. This tiny longbow is the superweapon for solo Assassins that will change your life. And it doesn't even take up a skill slot!
First, with some mobs, pull with your longbow from max range. No use taking damage before you even get a chance to use your daggers.
Second, it can be helpful to initiate combat with a longbow. Let the aggro fall on the heroes and henchies! This may take all of two or three seconds. Then go in after the healer and casters. Time out to rescue your own monks? Double clicking on a name in the party window will make your run to that character, saves a few tenths of a second.
Third, some areas ... Kaineng City in Factions is a good example ... just keep firing with the little pulling bow until your henchies, or heroes and henchies, have taken down a couple of the enemy mob. Very helpful against Jade Brotherhood.
Did you know that if the hench healers are not having to dump all their mana into you that they can easily keep themselves and the other henchies alive? And, the right selection of DPS henchies can usually take down any non-boss group with only a little basic direction from you! Really, you are there to help them; they are not there to pull you out of whatever trouble you may choose to get into.
2. A/R: Yes it works. I do run a hybrid A/R build in areas like Rot. Just the big brother of (1) above. Put the minimum points on the Ranger side to do what you want. In Prophecies, in particular, it is possible to find collector bows with a marks requirement of only about 6 that do an excellent job. Add one or two Ranger skills to your bar at most. Even as a hybrid, the emphasis should be on daggers for damage.
3. If you really want to use a bow all the time, roll a Ranger!

This is what I'm currently using in Ring of Fire:
[build prof=A/R crit=12+1+1 marks=12][I Am The Strongest][Way Of The Master][Critical Eye][Barrage][Keen Arrow][Triple Shot][Ebon Battle Standard Of Honor][Sunspear Rebirth Signet][/build]
With all your buffs up (at max ranks of course) you can hit upto (and sometimes even over) AoE 90's (on a critical hit) on level 24 Jade Armours, hardly bad at all for an Assassin with a bow.
I find Barraging more useful in Factions on HM where exploding Afflicted make your Monk cry, also pretty useful for getting into Barrage teams, though these are starting to dwindle nowadays.

Can work, kinda, but Death Blossom chains are much better. So is a critical scythe.

[skill]Disrupting Accuracy[/skill] Is really good with, say, [skill]Quick Shot[/skill] and Sundering/Penetrating Shot for single target interupts. Maybe even the new [skill]Incendiary Arrows[/skill] for multiple targets, but I havn't tried it. Maybe even Asuran Scan for more damage.
