Well my Alienware Area 51m 7700 I bought 4 years ago is still running strong, and plays GW flawlessly still. Only prob I got is that I'm about to need a new LCD screen that's gonna run me about $400 bucks.
CPU: Intel P4 3.6GHz
GPU: nVidia GeForce Go 6800 256mb
RAM: 2gb
I paid about $3500 back in the day. Don't even want to know what it'd run me now.
Although I also know know that I can get just as good a laptop for way less than this now.
I'm just gonna ride this one out until it dies or it can't run GW2.

CPU: Core 2 Duo @ 2GHz
GPU: nVidia Geforce 7950gtx 512mb
RAM: 2GB Kingston
Bought over a year ago for £1300. Still has the best DX9 GPU. Only thing that beats it is the 8800 series. Even then there is only a 10-15% performance increase or so.

I've been running GW on my laptop for nearly a year now with little to no problems.
HP Compaq 8510w Workstation
15.4" screen
Core 2 Duo T7300 @ 2GHz
2GB DDR2 of RAM(will upgrade to 4GB later)
NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M 256MB(running 8600M GT drivers for better gaming performance)
120GB HD at 7200RPM(might upgrade as technology gets better)
I got it for x-mas last year but it was priced at 2k and I managed to find one for 1.8k and got it.

What I have?
My laptop - I call it "the craptop" myself. It's nearly 4 years old now... paid nearly $2,000 CND myself, which was a decent price back then... thought about changing it but as long as it works, I'm not gonna change anything in it. Except the RAM. I'd need more and I think I'd be set.
Sony Vaio FS640
Core: Intel Centrino 1.7GHz
GFX: Intel Mobile 915GM/GML, 910GML Express - 128MB
RAM: 512MB (lol)
HDD: 80GB.
Old model really, but suits my needs (GW, work/school stuff). If I'm on my laptop, I don't have access to any other computer and really, it's better than no computer. Played on it while I was in Japan, I had to set the graphics to the lowest possible, it still ran choppy but it ran and that's all I was asking for when I bought this thing. It ran faster than my old desktop (and didn't crash every 15 minutes).

^ don't count on that running GW2 - that is going to be out about 2 years from now, and the "P4" is nearly obsolete already - what do you think it will be in another year and a half or so??? Not to mention a quite outdated GPU too. More than fine for GW, but I'd not expect much from it for GW2.
