Yes.

Ok, fine, I'll elaborate.

When I wanted Ruby and Sapphire Djinn Essences for my heroes' gear, I took the standard OF earth farmer build to Crystal Overlook. I got there not from Nightfall, but from Prophecies, through the portal in the Crystal Desert. Killing all the djinn I could reach without aggroing anything else, I used the portal twice, zoning to Tyria and then back to Elona to reset the zone and the djinn.

While this was certainly faster than the few djinn outside Bone Palace and definitely more effective than the Hidden City (where the Paragon djinn heal, deal massive damage with spear attacks, and inflict conditions), the drops were strictly bleh, and amassing the necessary amount of essences took forever. I seem to remember getting more Sapphire than Ruby ones, which made me give up on those and just mod some shields I found... but your mileage may vary, of course.

The Djinns don't interrupt or break enchantments, so you should have a couple of options. This is the build I like to use in the Hidden City of Ahdashim:

[build prof=E/Mo earth=12+3+1 protection=11 energy=6+3 desc="With 330 hp, 15 AL armor, and +20% enchantment duration"][Protective Spirit][Stoneflesh Aura][Crystal Wave][Glyph of Renewal][Sliver Armor][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][Spirit Bond][Balthazar's Spirit][/build]
This is a Stoneguard (aka 330 Ele) build, so you have to run 330 hp (two superior runes and no runes of Vigor) and probably 15 AL armor. It is somewhat helpful to have a -20 hp offhand to offset the hit point gain from killing the bosses also.

Spirit Bond is there to heal the burning, but don't feel you need to use it constantly. Try to stay above half health, however, because the Diamond Djinns will be able to inflict a Deep Wound at that point.

Try to kill the Diamond Djinns first, in as much as possible, then the Roaring Ethers (so they don't steal all your energy) and then the Sapphire Djinns. You won't be able to kill a Diamond Djinn unless there are at least two other Djinns still alive. For the Sapphire Djinns, you'll need at least one other Djinn. Sometimes you just have to leave the last few and move on.

You can tank essentially an unlimited number of Djinn as long as you cast a Spirit Bond once every ten seconds, so feel free to round up as many as possible. You should be able to clear the first room in about 4 minutes and everything up to Leilon in about 15 minutes.

But those ether creatures ( dont remember the correct name, they look like lions ) that are also in djinn groups do have Esurge and shatter enchant...

I vanquished hidden city and the mirror of lyss 600hp/smite, so I guess the build kotte suggestion would do the job just fine, perhaps even better as you can maintain OF constantly with glyph, which allows constant pulling

The Roaring Ethers are annoying with their Energy Surge, Energy Burn, and Ether Feast, which all tend to liquidate your energy, but they don't have Shatter Enchantment (at least not in the Hidden City). Fortunately, you won't generally get more than one or two at a time unless you're around one of the bosses. The trick is to make sure that you've got some duration left on your Protective Spirit+Stoneflesh Aura before you aggro any Roaring Ethers and draw as large group as possible to offset the energy losses. It's possible to pull the entire first room, for example. I think I usually fight only five battles up to Leilon.

It's a simple matter of personal preference, I think. For myself, I find walking around at 50% speed under Obsidian Flesh laborious, and I'm not too keen on sharing my drops with Ogden either.

Well, I did it with a friend of mine as the smiter and with myself as 600hp monk, the ethers were dead before spell breaker wore out, so didnt really pay attention to the ethers skills as they couldnt cast those most of the time...
