A minipet experience

They seriously need to change the way the mini pet system works. Like if you already got a mini on your account for a birthday you shouldn't get it again on that account, unless you bought it in which case it wouldn't count.

Anyway, mine? Four birthdays in a row, all four whiptails. I was sooo mad.

I know I posted in a thread simmiler to this ages ago but anyway the chars I remeber taht stand out.
For 3 chars 1st birthday on same account I got 3 Bone Dragons ( sold them )
and the same 3 chars when they hit 2nd year birthday they all got a Thorn Wolf each (sold 2 kept 1)
only have 1 char left that is 1 or 2 weeks away from 3rd birthday Dunno what i will get
I deleted the other 2 about 5 months ago and rerolled them.
So much for random minis but made me some cash at the time.

Are you complaining? I <3 fungal wallows... I'd be glad to be you. Fungal wallows are the only monster you can have as a henchmen! (Yes, there's tengu from talon silverwing, but he doesn't count)

I think it was wallow month...my last bday character got one as well (for a while there I was getting shiros....still hope to one day get that dang bone dragon!)..

in a way it requires some luck to get 8/10 minis the same you wouldn't complain if you got bone dragons each time would you?
I suppose thats just the way it works really each time doesn't reflect the last minipet you got and it is basically random. Some people have to get the 'rubbish' minis for them to be 'rubbish' and a few people get the 'rare' ones which makes it rare.

Ive had 1 purple for the first year (when they came out) and 2 purples (both nornbear) when they came out. I think that is above average luck .

Across 10 characters, 3 of which are now passed their 2nd birthdat, I've only had one duplicate (two hydra), otherwise I've had a nice spread of whites and purples. No golds yet from presents, but there's time

Pseudo-random number generators imitate randomness.

my fungal wallow was the seige turtle, jade, and jungle troll.

other than that i got a mini rurik as my first gold just last week.

other than that, minis really have no use, other than generating random comments from people as the pass by. i wouldnt worry about what you get. its kinda funny that you got 8 wallows tho =P

Well, I have 22 characters on my main account and 6 on my secondary (purchased before you could get slots). All told I get to farm 28 mini's a year, and yes so far I tend to get duplicates of whites. I have purchased one gold (my warrior's motif animal for all his heroes and himself is of course the War Pig - and he Haaad to have a mini-pig). I have one gold I payed $10.00 for (getting the Destroyer from PC Gamer). And I have a purple Shaman and a Burning Titan. Of my remaining whites, I have duplicates in Fungal Wallows, Jade Armor, and Whiptails. Might have a couple others.

But I wont agree that a person should get one of each randomly and then no more. It would be possible to randomly get one from a pool until you have one of each, then cause a recycle. They won't make this happen for two reasons - they don't care about programming changes to the base code and they won't make a change that eliminates trade. This would elimiante the need to trade minipets.

However, I am quite happy farming 28 minipets a year - it is hard work and takes an entire year to get mixed results. I dont want it to stop at a dozen or so when I need 200 mini's for my ten playing characters HoM.

I know someone who had 2 bone dragons and a mini aaarrghhhh As for me, the best I've gotten is a mini kirin I think... Ah well, lets see what September brings, 2 characters having their Bdays

Seriously though - most of us open up nothing but whites. I've seen one purple across the entire battery of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year pets. It does seem like the system distributes good fortune somewhat less than randomly, and it's unfortunate that you managed to open 8 Wallows.

However, any of the 1st year whites are pretty much valueless at this point, ya know? Not something to get worked up about.

Although you can complain, if you had gotten 10 Shiros... I'm sure you wouldn't complain about how it wasn't random enough.

Man that really does, I haven't gotten any really bad minis or that many in a row at least lol. Should be getting one more in a couple of days I think. Hope its a good one.

A lot of Whiptail Devourers for me, one Troll, one Siege Turtle and one Rurik. Oh, and both ,,uniques'', Asura and Ceratodon.

If U REALLY wan't to know................I tihnk all whites here. Over 3 characters and the rest have yet to get theres I think.

I got nothing but white minipets in 3 years.

Even though I never got an expensive mini, I consider myself lucky that I never got a mini twice.

Let's see if I can remember all correctly:

3rd year minis: Mursaat, Minotaur, Abyssal
2nd year: Mandragor, Harpy Ranger, Thorn Wolf, Wind Rider, Koss
1st year: Devourer, Siege Turtle, Necrid Horseman, Jungle Troll, Jade Armor, Hydra, Fungal, Charr Shaman , Kirin (in Pre)
