I am just thinking of new ways to add content...this idea would never be implemented though due to how much would need to go into it though.
But when screwing around on a new character in the Isle of the Nameless I did the "training" !$@# all over again and gained access to that one pathway after the Zaishen Challenge. And then after loading into the Zaishen Elite I thought about mixing the "pathway" concept with the "canyon" type of thing that the loading image is of.
That is what made me think that they should add a new explorable area just like that canyon in the loading screen. A LARGE canyon maybe even large enough you need a separate outpost 1/2 way through so people can take a break :P
and it can also be an addition to the training. Right now the training is pretty insufficient for helping new players grasp the concept of PvP "NOW" is (in proph this training would suffice, everything was a bit more simplistic)
It would include training on chokepoints, positioning, balling, spreading, hazards and map conditions as well as some of the new builds they may encounter while they traverse the canyon itself.
Unlike the title, it does not NEED to be PvE only...but since PvE is a huge demographic for GW players, I was thinking this would give them something to do PvE-wise, but ends up leading them into PvP.
Flame away~

Well, looking at all the campaigns now, especially Nightfall, there is quite some tutorial content (NF material quests and stuff).
Still I would agree with you... if you mentioned it 3 years ago :P
Now is not the time to think of the new GW1 players, I think everyone could agree that the effort would be better spent at GW2 developement. The idea could prolly be implemented in GW2, though... I seriously wonder how many ppl actually learnt to play from the in-game tutorials... I know I haven't ^^

I hope they refine the learning curve for PvP in GW2 so people don't get thrust into it from PvE and everyone just say things like "hahah dumb whammo, get a real bar plz"
A tutorial that perhaps weens people away from using builds such as a HH W/Mo or a Healing Breeze/Heal Other monk

The reason skills were given PvE versions is because they were too overpowered for PvP. Making this arena defeats the whole purpose of the split in the first place.

It seems like you're asking for a new area to be added to teach lazy players concepts that can't be fully conveyed through the use of AIs. That doesn't seem like a solution of anything to me.
Transitions for PvE players to PvP has to be done through AB, or even RA, and with advice and assistance from guildmates and friends, if necessary. It would be a better experience to have players explain to other players how things work.
