A-net should fix X
tenetke
Basically this is is an open thread for people to post things that should be fixed. I am really tired of seeing various skills buffed/nerfed when so many other flaws exist in the game already So, I will list one then you can list any you want to see fixed. Please don't list skills you think are overpowered or that kind of thing. Only list what you have found to be a bug and want it fixed.
For me it is Chilling Victory "If it hits, this attack strikes for +5...17 damage. Whenever it hits a foe who has less Health than you, target foe and all adjacent foes are struck for 15...51 cold damage. ". In PVE at least this skill causes the extra damage even if it doesn't hit anything.
An example : You are some shadow form assassin and a monster uses this skill. Even though it doesn't hit you, if you have less health it still deals the cold damage. I can not for the life of me figure out why this would be included at all. Though I have noticed other skills with similar aoe errors so it could be something to do with the aoe coding GW uses.
The aggravating thing about this skill for me is that recently it was addressed in a pvp change. So while they were "adjusting" it why didn't Anet go ahead and fix the problem? I guess I need to start 1000 different threads about how this skill breaks the game, and then make 1000 more about why it isn't game breaking just for it to get any attention.

The conditonal damage from Chilling is completely seperate from the attack. It's like you swing at your foe, and if you have more health a blast of cold wind flies out of your scythe and freezes everything nearby (technically, adjacent). The skill's broken due to it being overpowered, not glitched.

I do not care about things being overpowered but I am sick to death of a game being out this long and so many damn bugs still being around. I wish Anet would stop "balancing" and try to do some fixing. Then, when you have at least the bugs from the first 2 and a half years worked out they can go back to "balancing".
FengShuiDove
I agree with OP. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but you are technically correct.

3. It's not really massively overpowered. Blindness / miss hexes anyone?
Sorry dear, but any future nerfs are likely to be small (unless they completely change it, would would be interesting!).
auch
Heroes, they got messed up last update they can just run off anywhere now sometimes etc AI is messed
FoxBat
Yes, it's pretty stupid that they had to nerf the skill by changing attributes instead of fixing bugs. But I hear Izzy has limited programmer resources given to him anymore so he does what he can.

1. Shadow form does make you unable to be hit by attacks. So unless I am missing something and Chilling Victory is actually a touch skill this doesn't apply.
2. Your argument is that the skill is meant to be broken? Also I could care less about the lore. The fact is that the skill description is not how the skill works. Either the skill description needs to be changed OR, the skill is bugged. Either way something needs to be done.
3. What is interesting is that I have noticed even if this skill misses it still applies it's bonus damage. That is why I want it fixed.
I also noticed the heroes seem to be on crack lately, didn't know why though.

Here are some things that IMO make the game look sloppy:
1.) There are things/objects in the game that are invisible and have been for over a year:
- A bridge in Gate Of Pain that leads to the 3rd Emissary of Dhuum (bonus) is completely invisible. You can walk over it, but it appears invisible. If anyone at ANet had bothered to go for bonus in Gate of Pain any time during the past year or so, they'd have noticed this.
- The lake in the explorable zone Tears of the Fallen appears dried-up on the U-Map. Same for the bridge towards the end of the Ring of Fire mission. There are probably several other instances like this too, but these are the ones that come immediately to mind.
2.) Re-order the heroes in the drop-down list (and party menu). No excuse for it to be out of order at this point.
3.) Some merchants in the game sell blue scrolls. Some don't. I'd like a little consistency please. Likewise, fix the rare scroll traders so their gold scroll buy price doesn't look way cheaper than the FIXED 800g price you have to pay for their damn things. Either let us buy gold scrolls that cheap or change the window prices.
4.) Why are collector wands in Tyria STILL only single-modded?
5.) All collector stuff should be dyable. Not just stuff from some campaigns or from certain collectors. ALL collector stuff. Everywhere.
6.) Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions. Healer NPC's or Heroes healing minions.
7.) Shiro's sword and daggers should be req 9, not req 13 (as it is now) or req 15 (as it used to be). If you're going to leave it at req 13, at least make it overpowered or give it some sort of unique mod to justify the higher requirement. They're damn good skins that are gone to waste with this r13 BS.
8.) At one point ANet, for some reason or other, changed the loading screens for all/most of the missions. Well, I have to say.... NICE CHOICE on the loading screen for the Arborstone mission. Seriously, ANet. Have you even seen your Arborstone loading screen? The left half of the loading screen is just a giant freaking rock wall!!!!
9.) I'm starting to get a bit sick of the EoTN character selection screen, fwiw. Probably no chance it ever gets changed, but something generic would be nice (since it has been said going back to old loading screens isn't possible).

if chilling victory's skill description matched it's actual function then its conditional domage would indeed only apply when it hit your target.
not all skill descriptions are accurate though. oh well.
actually shadow form doesn't make you untargetable. it makes attacks against you miss and hostile spells against you fail, but you're still the target of those actions.
not all skill descriptions are accurate though. oh well.

the key your missing is this Whenever it hits a foe who has less Health than you most things have more heath then you when there at 75% heath so they have 1k heath you hav 700 so it still does the damage , it does what its soppose too shadow form steal lets youget hit other wise sliver would not trigger, same thing with apply poson ans choking gas thw arrow still hit you dont get damage but youstill get the aoe effect. the op is newb close thread |

Code:
For 5...25 seconds, all hostile spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss, but you deal 33% less damage. When Shadow Form ends, lose all but 5...41 Health.
Code:
For 5...10 seconds, you have 25...45% chance to block attacks and whenever you are the target of a hostile Spell or attack one nearby foe is struck for 5...29 earth damage.
Also another example of how buggy this skill is. Try with IW and a vampiric weapon. The vampiric weapon will not go off while you have IW active, yet the damage from CV does.
Anyway, I didn't want this thread to become all about chilling victory, there are so many damn bugs. How about discussing some of the others, OR better yet list some you want to see fixed.
To Tideswayer, your list is great. Hopefully the people at anet will read this. Maybe I should start pestering them and email them once a day till they fix the bugs.
Racthoh
I was informed that fixing Chilling Victory's secondary effect was pretty much impossible because of scythe mechanics. Basically to make it work as it reads you risked it triggering three times if the scythe could hit three people.

As for PvE, well aNet shot PvE point-blank with a shotgun and shoved a grenade down it's throat when they released consumables and then failed to nerf them, so I doubt they give a care about PvE at all.
One bug that really bugs me is how any "loose" bits on my clothing (Guild capes, the dangly thingys on most dervish armor, etc.) vanish whenever they go beneath water. It makes no sense whatsoever, and since the physics of your character walking isn't changed at all upon walking through neck-deep water, it leads me to think that water shouldn't have any means of affecting my danglies. Yet, despite all odds, it does.
Stolen Souls
-AI. It is a mess. Regina may say everything is working as it is intended, and it just "seems" like the heros/henchmen are acting oddly...but they really need to be fixed.
-Factions Mission NPCs...namely Togo and Danika. Factions has been out how long now, and there is still the problem of Togo getting "stuck" 1/3 through the Vizunah mission. Likewise Danika in Arborstone.
-The quest just before the Sunjiang mission is STILL bugged with suicidal guards.
Also, everything TideSwayer listed up there^

Fix the survivor / deaths bug that's going on lately when people maptravel. There's a thread about it somewhere.
Do not cancel/interrupt skills that a ranger is already casting at the moment his pet dies. "that skill is still recharging". NO it wasn't when I clicked it damnit!!! Annoying is hell.
Pet's don't level when you accept quest rewards. Heroes do. What's up with that? (inside our outside of outposts).
and /singed for everything TideSwayer said.

That's how Psychic Distraction gets through interruption immunity, by disabling skills while they're being used, so that when the skill should "finish", it's already recharging so it can't be used.

1.) I remade a Prophecies character today, and haven't been to Pre-Searing in a long time, so not sure when this got bugged:
- The Pre-Searing 'Hidden Stash' barrels looked opened (ie. lid on the ground, etc.) even before they were opened.
Could've just been my comp settings or something, but I thought that was odd.
2.) Temple of Ages merchants need Superior ID and Superior Salvage kits (and lockpicks too, if they don't have them). They're still running the old-school inventory, and considering this is a very popular high-end PvE outpost, should probably get the full allotment. How many times have one of you had to leave a ToA party to warp back to your guild hall just to buy something?
3.) The 'Unwanted Guests' quest in UW. I know that at one point, back in 2005-2006 sometime, a person didn't have to tank the Vengeful Aatxes until the things in back were killed and THEN die in order for those Vengeful Aatxes to die (but that's how it's done nowadays). I remember only having to kill the things in back (those guardian things - forget the name) to kill the Vengeful Aatxes instantly. At some point this quest got bugged, and it never got fixed.
People having to die to accomplish a quest is lame. Change it back.
4.) Not sure if this is a bug or what, but in Dwarven Boxing those two Stone Wolves (in that one room) take a heck of a lot more hits to kill than any of the armor-wearing Stone Summit. As far as I know they aren't using any sort of armor buff skill. I have this thought that the armor level on those Dwarven Boxing Stone Wolves is bugged. Don't know if its true, but it just seems funny to me that I can't beat the crap out of a wolf faster than I can a trained Stone Summit warrior in full metal armor.
5.) The 'several salvages triggering an anti-bot logout'. Anyone who collects monster drops during farm runs to later salvage for materials has probably run into this problem. Salvaging multiple items of a single stack can often trigger some sort of anti-bot script that logs you out. Sometimes it takes 4 salvages to log you out. Sometimes it takes a dozen or more. Seems to vary. My friends are paranoid and continually move around the items in their inventory to different boxes after every few salvages in an attempt to avoid this.
All I know is the workaround for this is so incredibly simple the forced logout might as well not even be there: Just put your salvage kit and the stack of whatever you have to salvage into your Xunlai storage and salvage from there. You don't ever trigger the script that way (or far less often, at least).

chilling victory is bugged cause the condition get's applied no matter if you got higher health or not than target (tested it out in pvp a long time ago don't know if they fixed that but i suppose not)
