There was a farmer who had a... necromancer?

Hey there...

I've searched all over for build suited for what I'm looking for and when I do find something it's stamped outdated or something to that effect so I finnally gave up and decided to just post what I'm looking for and to see what people can throw at me (hopefully it's neither sharp nor large).

I'm a Necromancer with only Prophecies campaign. I'm looking to make some money, and I've been repeatedly told the best way is to farm it. Thus I come looking for a build that my necro can use that doesn't require any other versions of the game... and doesn't require that I spend thousands of gold or platinum on (seeing as the reason I search for a farming build is to make some platinum I don't have). One final point I'd like to stress is the fact that I'd be more comfortable with a solo build, but if I need to I suppose I can find someone else to tag along, or me to tag along with them.

So basically if you can think of anything I'd like the skill set, point distribution, location it works, and if possible, some tips on how to use it efficiently.

I understand I'm asking for quite a bit so if someone was feeling generous, I'd really appreciate a reply

Found this on pvx wiki, all skills prophecies or core:

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:N/...SS_Necromancer

This time is a free service, but in the future, I would advise you go onto a place such as the site that build is on and look for yourself, no reason others should look for you when you could look yourself. I'm guessing you didn't know about pvx wiki though, so no hard feelings this time

Well, if you only own Prophecies and you're just starting out farming, my advice to you would be to begin with farming hydras in Skyward Reach. It's a very easy farm, and while it isn't exactly super-profitable you'll make some money.

I'll be online, most probably, this evening and if you want I can show you how it's done. You need the -50hp Grim Cesta and a 55hp armor plus optionally a caster weapon. (20 enchantments and +5 energy)

Go 50/50 UW you could porbebly do this with just prophecies...
N/Mo solo is easiest.

Yeah, he could always duo UW. You don't really need all campaigns for that. However, it won't be easy for him to pug if he only owns Proph.

Builds become outdated fairly often as skills get get altered in the game.
You should also realise that new builds tend not to be leaked to the majority of players till the creator has got good use out of it, unless they are a very generous person.

What sort of money are we talking here because for some 500k is a fortune while others consider it pocket change.

What I am thinking is many farming builds need 2 things first 5 superior runes
Second the -50 cesta from an early mission in post searing.

Then you need a lot of practice to use them effectively and to know what changes to make in what areas.

That's a lot of time and effort if your cash needs are modest

My thoughts were if he only wants 100k to 200k he could get that just blitzing lower end areas with a henchies.

You get dross drops and some goes to the henchies but you can make faily decent amounts of cash by setting aside an hour either before or after normal game play.

Maybe even a mm build with a pet to start off with the first kill you could do low end areas solo.
You should be able to clear the start area no problem, grawl or charr would seem to be good targets that and the inevitable devourers that pop up all over.

The problem you will have with UW and FoW is that since you are just starting out and strapped for gold, the entry cost may be prohibitive. So I suggest you join a medium-to-large sized guild that does FoW and UW runs out of ToA. If they have their act together, they'll let you tag along without paying until you've earned enough to buy your own scrolls. You can also partner up with someone who could use your SS skills for duo ecto farming. Yes, people can solo these areas. But the nice thing about guilds is: people can enjoy the game more doing things together.

My recommendation to you would be to start a new character in pre. Make some money, spend enough to get your character set up with proper armor (Runes/Insignias) and a good weapon. Then save the rest. I have been in pre for a bit (couple months) with a Mes/Ele and already have 75K. I would already have made approximately 150k but I have assisted a few guildies get their char through. Get over 100k start buying black/white dyes and sell for a better cost in post when you cross over. Then you start post with enough money to get your character some nice armor, a better weapon, and you can purchase many of the skills you might need to farm the other areas. I would definately recommend to you getting atleast EoTN for Heroes. Henchies suck!!! Anyways, good luck and happy hunting.

Wow, that was a lot faster than I would have imagined.

I'm definitely going to look into some of this, but... some of the more technical terms are lost on me.

I really should have a hang of all these abbreviations by now, but I really don't

As far as money goals, I really haven't thought that far ahead. I would probably consider myself lucky to manage 20k (I've only got around 13k stored up). Really, anything at this point would be great.

Actually (I just came back to guild wars after almost a year of a break from it), I do recall me trying my hand at a 55 invinci monk kind of deal. I don't, however, remember how successful I was or where/how I was doing anything as it's been a while. apparently I wasn't that great considering I only have 13k to throw around .

In any case I'll give it a shot. Truth be told, I've been having trouble finding a guild to help me out. But I suppose I could always do to look harder. Thanks for all the help thus far, and I'd appreciate any further tips .
