I only know of ONE person that was ever banned for language, and he used foul language constantly.

In my experience, it's the immature and younger kids who think they need to curse up a storm. They probably think it'll make them look cool...

It is mentioned in the EULA that they can ban people for using inappropriate language at their discretion, ANet just hasn't published a list.

Also, define 'bad'.

I thought people got banned for Racial Slurs and Verbal Abuse? i've not heard of anyone being banned for just swearing. And in cases were people say "i was banned for swearing" they seem to leave out small details like who they were swearing at which counts as Verbal Abuse.

ANet decide to change rules whenever it suits them. This is one of them.

I blame ULGG.

<--Banned Twice for the use of inappropiate language , but i had good reasons ,
first time i wasnt getting rezed and was insulted Racial. gave them some words back..

Also yes , the chat filter should be there for a reason.. not just a chance to ban everyone..

Because people are overly sensitive when "real" offensive words are used.

Guild Wars is rated 12+ AND has a chat filter option yet you are not allowed to swear :P

If im not mistaken, chat filter is default on? If not, maybe ANet should roll out an update that changes it to be on by default (easy to change back and would stop babies crying).

EDIT:
Also, in "Teen" rated games such as Guild Wars you are allowed the following:
-Violence
-Suggestive Themes
-Crude Humor
-Minimal Blood / Blood
-Simulated Gambling
-Infrequent use of strong language (hmm... if spammed it maybe SHOULD get banned, but every now and then is ok)

Chat filter is defualt on, I think it's set to 'full'. What people need is to grow up and learn how to swear properly, and to have parental controls on the accounts (the game may be 12+ but you need to a legal adult to own an account, because of laws involving contracts and such).

i know plenty of adults including myself who think RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is one of the most satisfying words to say, the way it rolls off the tongue (and lower lip. moar emphasis on the PHHHHHHHHHHH sound = you said it well).
that might be some people's reasons for using it o.O

The EULA regarding profanity/offensive language has not changed in the 3+ years that GW has been live.

A-Net has every right to enforce the rules laid down in the EULA and agreed to by anyone who is playing the game.

Worried about getting suspended? DON'T USE LAGUAGE THAT MAY OFFEND OTHERS!!!!
