Debating whether to Salvage Chaos Gloves..

Hiya. I got Chaos Gloves for my sin around 3 weeks ago. And now, I don't really play him, and want a pair for my Monk, so I'm debating whether to salvage them to put the ecto towards the pair for my monk.
I'd just like to know, if anyone else has salvaged them and what they crumbled into.

Salvages into either: 30-40 Piles of Glittering Dust and 2-3 Globs of Ectoplasm, 39 Globs of Ectoplasm, or only Piles of Glittering Dust.

Back on topic: they will salvage into dust or ecto (use expert salvage for ecto chance).
My suggestion: they take only 1 slot in inventory, salvaging them will give around 25 ectos? probably a bit less. Should start from scratch for a new pair.

As someone who salvaged full Mesmer FoW and got roughly 80 bolts of cloth, total. I would not recommend it.

lol @ salvaging obsi armor and chaos gloves.....why even waste the time to farm for them, if your going to break them down. seems like a big waste of time....but then again if thats how you like to spend your gw time, then thats all that matters.

i have a theory of the value of an item has a relation to the salvage u get from it
i.e. an item thats 50g compared to an item thats 100g
the 100g item has a higher chance to salvage higher value mats
and the salvage worth (merchant value) will -always- be higher than the item worth
i havent done any serious testing
but i have kept a watch on it on many things i salvage
and it seems to have a relation (as small as it may be)
tho... it could jus be a mind thing
so if ur armour has a merchant value of 600g
i would think that u'd roughly get jus a bit over that in mats
but not ridicoulusly over that like 5000g in mats
(not goin by mat npc trader...ecto is worth 100g merchant value)
this of course is jus all personal speculation

Seriously, for all the trouble it took to get them you shouldnt salvage them in the first place. Secondly, the remote possibility of modest returns should not be enough to take the gamble.

i salvaged my necro fow armor. never liked it, just bought it for HOM, only gor 7 shards

Why? Just keep them, unless you are tight on space, in which case, throw something else out. I have regretted pretty much every high end armor I have salvaged, for one reason or another.

If you are never going to use the character again or never wear the gloves again then who cares? Salvage crappy gloves into whatever you get from them. If it is Ecto then woot! If it is dust then make some CONS. A Piece of armor you NEVER wear is worth jack. Might as well take the risk. I have salvaged lots of 15K sets because I don't wear them. Of course I do wear my Necro Obby Armor and dont plan to salvage that I have never bought chaos gloves because I think they Look like doo doo IMO.

well value wise not worth it, time wise..not worth it...but if you want to save and extra 5 ectos or 30 dust off your next pair..go for it.

i got 30 ectos from my chaos gloves, which i'm happy with. I was scared to do it at first given the fact you can get dust from it as well. it's a gamble

Buy 4 sets of gloves. then salvage all 4. Then use all the ecto from teh salvaged gloves to buy a new pair, and there u go

I wouldn't and this is why. You'll miss the character later on. I've deleted several characters that I even bought elite armor, but I deleted them thinking I would never use them. How I was wrong. Except for the Dervish, they suck. I'm glad he's dead.
