HI All --
I am attempting to do this mission with PUG's and we keep getting beat down badly. I was wondering if the group had any helpful suggestions for a Rit build that would help the group get masters on this mission.

well a spirit spammer can do well in there since to kill shiro most teams door camp so u can just put spirits down out of range of shiro and let them beat him senseless while some1 tanks. Also pain inverter is a gd skill if u have eotn :-)

Do you have GWEN?
If so - one if the coolest skills to use is You Move Like A Dwarf.
Although you can't KD Shiro - the beauty of the skill is the fact that you can use it to inflict cripple. And since Shiro needs to be in melee range to hit anyone - when Shiro is limping around the party should have enough time to capture shrines.
If you don't have GWEN - then any spammable slowdown does the job very nicely (YOU don't need to have it - but if anyone in the party can bring it - it's VERY nice!).
What I also love bringing is a spirit which I then use to distract Shiro a bit. Not only is he slowed down (from the slowdown) - but he also goes for the spirit first - and that gives you guys quite some time to leave him behind.
A spirit spammer could be quite nice - Pain, Bloodsong, Anguish will do quite lovely damage on the poor guy.
Although the area has reduced healing - I wouldn't take more then two dedicated healers/protters. Otherwise you might come short in terms of dealing damage and that might slow you down at the monk shrine.
Edit: It seems Ducky beat me to the idea with the spirit spammer ... -.-

I agree with spirit spam. If I remember correctly I took Vampirism, Pain, Bloodsong, Anguish, and Painful Bond and it went ridiculously easy.

Pain inverter is also good against Shiro and the Lich, if you have EOTN. Also, you can H/H it and use the flag your heroes/henches to the shrines while you stay back trick (open your local map when the door to shiro and lich opens up, and cap all the shrines by flagging your H/H since nothing goes hostile while the human stays out of range, then kill lich, then shiro). The most importantt advice I can think of: you gotta have wild blow or wild throw on somebody, and use it everytime you see shiro use his battle scars stance.

It really helps if you have a sin in your party who can kill Shiro single handed Though I don't see many sins sitting around Gate of Madness....
One effective way to get masters is to have a single person run in, aggro shiro and pull him back to the chamber entrance WITHOUT pulling the lich. This makes it easier to get the masters really. Kill Shiro at the door, then totally ignore the lich until you have visited the shrines. The Lich is a pushover anyway, this mission is really ALL about killing shiro. Keep him blinded and have your tank/sin remove his stances (especially impossible odds). On my monk I found it helpful to bond up the tank with Prot spirit and Spirit bond, though that may not work as well in Normal Mode. And, as many have already said, Pain Inverter works wonders! I also found it helpful to have a lot of rangers with Pets, though in principle Spirits should serve that purpose failry well also. Or you could always bring spirits, pets and minions to really keep him focused away from you. Actually, come to think of it, last time I did that the tank died and the pets kept shiro busy long enough to kill him
Good luck, and feel free to PM me in game if you need a hand.

I actually always go for Lich first since Shiro is so much easier to control as you are running around capping shrines. If I am not mistaken that guys wands for some 400 damage ...

Impossible odds is just a skill, not a stance. But its at its deadliest in combination with battle scars, so stance removal used on battle scars takes away a lot of his punch.

It only takes two to beat this a war and rit.the rit must be a Rt/Mo with life bond casted on the Warrior.I would look for a screenshot of Ractoth doing this.

If you want to straight up fight shiro the best method is stacking evasion/block so he can never hit you. [Guardian] from a monk + [Weapon of Warding] from yourself + blind = 97.5% of his attacks missing, which shuts down his damage completely. Make sure the blind source has a fairly decent recharge, because if/when he does hit you under impossible odds he loses the condition (though even the 75% just from guardian and WoW should be enough, but its more risky). If the character tanking him can bring a stance removal that will help a bit, but its not needed.
The other option is to just screw with his AI a bit. He has a maximum distance he can follow you, if you pull him to that distance and just pummel him with ranged attacks you can whittle him down fairly easily. I've killed him dozens of times on a ranger with just attack skills + degen using this method. Rit spells + the rest of your party should be able to handle it easy.
Make sure you fight the lich first though. If one person slowly moves forward along the right side of the entrance you will be able to aggro the lich alone and fight him without shiro helping. Kill the lich then cap. As long as you don't fight shiro and get him down to low health he does basically nothing to you, but if you leave the lich alive while capping you can be pummeled.
