I've been playing PvP for about 2 months now, but don't find myself to be improving. To give you an idea of how bad I am, I can only consistently get to 3 wins in the RA. 5 if I have a good monk. People tell me to Obs and watch a good player, but I have no idea what to look for. I play a Ranger, and when I watch other rangers, but I never know what to look for. Any tips on what to look for while watching a ranger or other ways to improve would be greatly appreciated.

Just so you know...

RA is preety much only about builds and luck.
You need to be lucky to get in a good team with no warrior using [[email protected]] which happened to me recently... Was a fun game hehe..

The best way to improve is to get experience. Have a play around with the other professions for a few hours and you will learn each of their strengths and weaknesses. You will then know what to look out for on your Ranger.

If you using a PvP only character you can easily save your current skill set and attributes in a template for later use when you return (you can do the same for your equipment too).

Try out the guides in the Campfire section. There are guides stickied on most/all professions.

Don't worry about what other people are telling you to do in RA, and everyone gets WAY too worked up about it, as long as you try to find a slot for res sig in your build, it doesn't matter. People seem to forget that Random Arenas is RANDOM, Guild wars is your game, you play it how you want.

learn to interupt key skills
that involves learning wut key skill r

observe players skills usage
wut skills they're using, and when they use it

honestly, rite now i'd focus on that
knowledge of wut skills ppl use and wut they do, why they're usin it

after u get good knowledge, then practice interrupting them

i mean, u can have a quick reflex
but u could be jus spamming interupts on random skills
that really dun need to be interupted

in ra...res sig shutdown is very important for a ranger
always have awareness of when someone does
aside from the obvious cues...u can also tell cuz u get a +exp trigger

also make sure to watch ur positiong
jus cuz ur recurve bow -has- spell range
doesnt mean thats how far u should always be from opponents

always try to be in a good position to be ready to 'rupt any one of their players at any given time

as well...watch out for obstructions

if both ur interupts r on cool down
or if theres a moment where u dun need to interupt
then spread poison
thats ur main source of dps as a ranger

so if u can upkeep poison on multiple-targets
thats more pressure for their monkie

these r jus some general basics for an ra/ta interupt ranger
dun wanna make this too long...so i'll stop here
if u want more specific info, jus aks
