I have a 17" LCD monitor and want to upgrade to a 22 inch. Does anyone have a recommendation for a certain model? I will also use it for photography, but really want one thats good for games. I don't want to spend more than $300.00.

Oh, I have you more than covered on this one.

If you want 22", that won't be an issue. Here are some good ones well within your price envelope.

Best 22" ever:

2nd best 22" ever:

Noticing the trend here? Stick with Samsung, you can do no wrong. Acer is also good, as is Westinghouse these days.

Here is an Acer to take a look at:

Or this Acer:

However, I would recommend buying this lovely ACER 24" 1080 monitor. Not only is the resolution much higher, but the monitor itself is gorgeous and ACER makes good monitors.

Look for good contrast ratio, and response time.

Also looking up reviews never hurt

Thanks for the responses. I have looked at reviews but there are so many out there, and the people who wrote them are not necessarily looking for the same things I am. Hence, that's why I posted here. I figure this is the best to get info - not sure what good response time means.

Thanks Rahja, the Samsungs look good. Right now I can't go higher then a 22" because my computer is in a cabinet, and a 24" wouldn't fit.

I really want one that's good for gaming and has good accurate color for processing photographs also.

get a 1900x1200 resolution and a 5ms or faster response time. That will be important for photo processing/editing and good for gaming too. Samsung is great - you can't go wrong with them. (I've had a Samsung TV for nearly 20 years and it's going strong as on day one still).
