Kormir.
Hara Makoto
I have grown tired of being in a mission with Kormir, and while your putting in lots of hard work, our glorious spearmarshal stands around holding a spear, and seems incapable of actually using it. Now i understand Kormir was blinded, however, she still is able to use shouts and follow you around, so WHY OH WHY can't Kormir actually do something useful.
Is it only me who feels like this? I dont know, but others I've spoken to in game also have a growing hatred for Kormir. And, was Kormir only really designed to stand around following you holding a spear doing nothing towards the latter parts of the Nightfall, where you could actually do with a little more support, I dont know. But, Prince Rurik, Master Togo, Brother Mhenlo, Gadd and so many more people were capable of helping out.
That's just my opinion, anyway :P

Because, ANet didn't want to punish us with another Prince Leeroy character?
Cargan
Simple... it's because at the start of the game there are NPC's to show you how to do the basics like use skills and synergy and whatnot. Later in the game they needed an NPC to show people how to do other things, like leech.
glacialphoenix
Actually, I found her the most irritating during Jokanur Diggings. 'Why is the Ghostly Sunspear's health going down - OMG WTF IS KORMIR DOING'.
I'd much rather have her inactive than Leeroying, especially in situations where you have to keep her alive.

Yeah, I prefer not losing the game do to a random NPC dieing, as opposed to having a useless 7th party member.

Oh yeah....that's convenient.
I don't like NPC's running off into battles and causing problems for my team. I like my own pace. *coughrurikcough*
Hara Makoto
Yes, It is good that Kormir doesnt have to die all the time, but she could do something like shouts, or attacks . Besides, they shouldn't really die, If your heroes actually heal them, and in GW:EN if they die, you can still continue the mission and they get ressed, which imo should have happened in the other campaigns as well .
JupiterStarWarrior
*gasps* KORMIR IS BLINDEDEDEDED?! NO WAI!!!
/sarcasm
Anywho, yeah, I like not having to babysit Kormir like I have to baby sit Leroy Rurik. o_O;

Which is, uh, kind of what happened to me in Jokanur - she attacked Random Little Red Dot On The Radar, which turned out to be a Ghostly Sunspear. As far as I'm concerned, her attacks are a bigger problem than her standing still >.>

Back on Topic: Yes, I agree, and what is worse, we are the ones that have to break our asses killing a god and SHE GETS TO BECOME A GOD??!!! O.o WTF?

It makes sense that Kormir would cease fighting when she becomes blinded.
For anyone who has played through the Ascalon missions in Prophecies, they should understand the Rurik dilemma. Rurik likes to aggro everything in sight and occasionally ends up dying towards the end of the mission. Similarly in Jokanur Diggings as has been mentioned, Kormir is uncontrollable in a situation where she can easily wreck the bonus. I would personally rather her stay out of combat starting in (or perhaps after) Chahbek because her level 20 awesomeness breeds laziness in players and doesn't encourage good tactics. If the goal is to have Kormir assisting the party, perhaps give her a couple ally affecting shouts (currently she has solely [incoming] which only affects her) and changed to not attack.
Some good candidates for her buffs: [never give up] [never surrender] [aria of zeal] [aria of restoration] [zealous anthem]
So essentially some generic martial/caster buffs (although only give 1 or 2)

Kormir acts like a doorstop in Abaddon's Gate. Literally. I get stuck in her a lot while she idles here and there.
She would make a great tank. Oh well...

lol if those npc's actually had a usefull skillbar instead of annoying the heck out of you (Gadd => he needs to die) or any other leroy npc you have to babysit during a mission to actually finish it, no thnx.
Idiot togo and Idiot mhenlo allready annoyed the crap out of me in factions i don't need another leroy idiot running around aggroing every possible mob in a mission

It would be nice if komir atleast used shouts..
But I rather enemies do not attack her.

She is annoying. If she goes after the Sunspear Ghosts, she's annoying. When she stands around and does absolutely nothing, she's annoying.
And I agree, I'd rather not have to worry about her dying and the mission or whatever failing. It would be nice if she could shout, but like said, I really would rather not have to keep an eye on her for fear of death.

She's annoying no matter what she does. Aggroing stuff, saying long speeches, standing there leeching...
I'd rather have her leech though tbh << Shouts would be verrry nice, but meh

"Thanks, ANet, for creating a NPC who actually causes you to fail the mission!" (I know, Leeroy Rurick wasn't much better.)
So, yeah - there are plenty of times where I wish you could just let Kormir get killed or leave her altogether. I mean, in Jokanur, she's the highest level of any of us, and she's the one we have to keep alive? Thankfully, it's not that hard - just annoying.

haha! I simply h8 kormir! she's so noob that if she could help she'd make you unable to ever try to play NF =0

"Good to see you again XXX" says the blind woman to the party members.
Uhh?

if she can't die then thats one less irriation meaning you don't have to restart tough missions because a leeroy
Cale Roughstar
Just for lulz she should run around spamming

imo kormir isnt as bad as argo from factions, he needs to be renamed to AGRO it's like he is constantly set to fight... kormir never seemed that bad to me, only used her a few times and she removes conditions with centaury sig pretty well

Kormir sucks.
'nuff said.

How could you even say that? Kormir helped so many new players learn the basics and sacrificed her mortality to become a god. You guys are just ungrateful.
No... you all are racists! (damn you laserth that thread had potential)

Kormir,
all those times of bodyblocking my fat ele in the last mission. She truly is a god. I even like Magrid's sister more. Dunkoro can also go stuff himself in the river of angst for making me have to take him on missions numerous times to waste a good hero slot. *sigh* At least Koss is still cool.
KoKoS
i mean "What the H3LL?! O.o" I kill abaddon and SHE gets to become a Godes? she's the one who caused all the evil, i get to stop all the evil that she started and she gets to become a godess?! that is SO unfair! >.>

It's a far cry from "Everything Kormir loves will be safe everafter" or whatever the line is from after her ascension.
Clearly, she doesn't love Elona or the Sunspear order she was the leader of... so what DOES she care about?
Considering how ineffectual the gods have been at protecting their worshippers since Nightfall, I wonder if the reason they chose Kormir was because she was crippled and not really useful any more on the mortal plane. Even with EOTN as the last semimajor Guild Wars 1 storyline, the world still needed us as heroes more than it needed a blind ex-Spearmarshal.
If this sounds unfair, remember the line "Never be indispensable - then you'll never be promoted".
And it could be that the same things that lead her to cause the problem in the first place actually meant that she was the most attuned to Abaddon's power, and thus the most able to absorb it.

I don't know what you're all complaining about, i never had any trouble with Kormir and like hell if i care she buffs me. As for blowing the bonus in diggings, she never did that, i only failed the bonus once and that was because i didn't know what to do. It's true she quite the hogger(god-hog), but i would have a million times rather a useless body-block then a *shivers at all the mission failed's* rurik jenkins. Don't start about a togo or mhenlo, or even a certain dwarf king who likes to go solo sometimes.

I prefer non-performing Kormir to non-performing Rurik. If you are melee, Rurik runs in and fights; if you are a caster, he won't do anything until you bodily drag him (and yourself) into melee range of the mob.
I was GLAD he died crossing the Shiverpeaks. I was GLAD I got to kill him personally in Hell's Precipice.
Kormir was as much problem as a piece of furniture. If you don't expect anything, no disappointment when nothing happens. BUT, why do you have to talk to her to go to the DoA. I do remember resenting that the first time.

on a more serious note..who knows. it bugged me too.

The real reason: Kormir is a reflection of ArenaNet.
Just there for appearance. Doesn't really do anything. Gets in the way of all the fun stuff, this ruining it. Won't listen to the players. Pretty much useless and annoying.
