Well i first started my online gaming carrier with guild wars and at the time i loved it. prophecies was great, factions was also very fun for me aswell.
Then came a little change to the game. the makers changed the way mobs aggro onto a player.
I did not like it because i was strictly a farmer, i later then decided to leave gw to play world of warcraft. after having played wow for a year and a half or so. i decided to fire up gw for awhile so i could get ready for wrath of the lich king.
Well my first impressions of post nightfall guild wars were semi good and semi bad. it appears that that they now have two modes to the game. normal mode and hard mode.
From what i understand normal mode has the mobs aggro the way they did when prophecies was new. To me that was very nice. but aparently some new thing called loot scaling and also it just being normal mode makes it so that you get 1 or 2 white items every 10 or so kills. even while out solo farming. i didnt mind though i kinda just farm for the fun of it.
However i turned it to hard mode and i was instantly offended. Here is that same old "100 monsters lvl 25 and above running away from 1 lvl 20" crap.
and to be honest the loot was not even that great either. Instead of hard mode it should be called annoying mode.
Now. with that said i feel that the makers of guildwars had the best of intentions when they made all these changes. there is no doubt. but i would like to give some advice to them... listen to your players.
My point here is had they taken the lessons they should have learned from prophecies
IE: Running players is fun!
Farming gold stuff is fun!
Killing 100 things at once is fun!
playing with real people is fun!
They could have build new expansions that played on those new found strengths instead of destroying them.. they could have designed the expansions in a way that would allow running to high level areas. and a way that would allow farming with no nerfed drops or aggro. or just smaller changes.. they added heros to the game because they new finding good players to play with is hard.. because the game was loosing people
In all i feel when i play guild wars is that it had the potentual to become this great and very deep game with guild dedicated to running, running competitions, farming guild and farming competitions and many other things that would have influenced people to play..
But they turned it into a game that was all about storyline and party play with heros and henchies in single player mode. because although i have to be online to play this game.. the only interaction i have with people is when in towns trying to sell something for five hours.
Not only that but the economy in gw is awful... you have a whole plethera of items in this game.. only at the very most 10% of those items is worth half a shit.. the rest is vender trash. and yes they could have taken a lesson from wow and added an auction house.
After having played gw for over 2 years and wow for a bit over 1.5 years.. i would say that guild wars is a game that thanks to its creators strives to annoy its playerbase.
Why did i feel the need to discuss this? because i think that any players that have not tried playing wow or another type of game should see that players who have played both extensivly will choose other games over gw.
Yes you do pay to play world of warcraft on a monthly bassis.. but i would rather pay monthly for a gem of a game that is deep and engaging than pay for a solid turd then have to buy extensions of that same turd at almost twice the rate of any other games.
so new players and players that only play gw.. i recomend trying a wow 10 day trial to make up your own mind. i must say im so glad i came to play gw for these few days.. now i know how good i have with with blizzard.
My impressions of the game.

WoW and GW are two very different games, not everyone who likes GW will like WoW. And Guild Wars has a lot worse problems than PvE being a little different than it once was, PvP is pretty much a farce.

Just stay with WoW. I'm not going to even bother exposing all of your shitty points in the post.

I know just as many friends who have left Wow because of the grind - everyone to their own choice. I prefer not to pay $180+ a year for a game I already purchased - just my choice.

I'm really tired of seeing one of these every day.

It's been some time since I saw a thread like that...
Some players like GW some don't.
I played WoW for a month ? did I enjoy it ? yes, it was fun, but it was time consuming. When the month ended, I didn't feel like paying for another month because it was getting repetitive.
If you don't like GW uninstall it and go play WoW.

So basically you made a thread to complain/give your opinion on how bad the game has changed, say WoW is better, and tell people to go try WoW?
If you don't like what Guild Wars has become, stay with WoW. Don't come to a Guild Wars fansite and tell us your opinion with poor points on the game, and to advertise WoW.
