Specific materials weapons???

Hallo peeps, i had an idea this afternoon while farming Chaos Plains....i was wondering what can i do with the bunch of ectos i have in storage....i got all the weapons i want, the armors i like, the equipment i need etc etc etc...

So the idea was: if could be possible to craft specific materials weapons??

Explanation: u got a stack of diamonds, rubies, ectoz, obsidian shards, wood, iron, dust etc etc etc all you want......u go to a crafter and he craft for you a weapon you like with the skin of the material you use....As anyone will understand there will be more valuable weapons e.g. = ecto-scythe (for example need 100 ecto needed to craft) and less valuable weapons e.g.= glimmering dust wand (250 piles of dust needed).
But someone may like to have a glimmering dust staff or an iron bow and not a pink scythe

This is just to make a better use of materials and to have some new skins; everyone can customize is own weapon and you will see that rarest existing skins in GW will raise again (referring to voltaic spears farm and things like this)

Here we go again. There are already, to my memory at least, at least 2 threads on this.

If you don't need all those materials why do you continue to farm? I stopped when I got 1000e because that is enough money for pretty much anything I want (maybe not that unded island guardian but oh well).

You can always do what I did, switch over to the dark side (PvP)

I think he means not just ecto. Hell i'd love to see weapons crafted from gemstones, especially as diamonds/onyx are pretty common now and how gemstones have few uses. Also would love to see a saphire sword...

It's not only referred to ectos...i said: e.g. (example given) an ecto-scythe....as ectos are the most used trading material...

My idea it's to be able to craft weapons of ur favourite material..which mean also wood and parchment (even if a sheet axe it ridiculous) or glittering dust as well....

I know it would be a great change in weapon market, but also a good chance to use common and rare materials. If you note all but ectos is only used to craft few types of armor, so it could be a good idea also to raise up rare material prices. If there's a larger demand all materials will raise again to old days glory

But it's mostly an idea for new skin weapons, as everyone know you can craft some special weapons in GWEN (like Destroyer Weapons) but it's all the same.
The idea is giving the possibility to craft any knid of weapon with any kind of material: if exists a Briar Blade, why not made of diamonds???

I started this thread a while ago.. Mat/Rare Mat weapon crafter... Go revive old threads like the forum says. This is the 3rd time this thread has been made.

And what makes you think Anet will put time and money into someone designing new weapon skins, putting them in the game, and then dealing with people crying because they can't get it because they don't own the right game?

Everything is on GW2 except bug fixes and skill balancing. Considering they have cut skill balancing back to monthly instead of weekly, I'd say you have zero chance of this happening.

If this do not happen i'm not going to cry.....was just an idea, i'm not that kind of GW plater that only think at weapons apparence and stuff.

I'd like a glass hammer.
