Was wondering if i should get GuildWars: Platinum (Has GW and GW: Eye of the North) or if i should just go strait to getting Nightfall. Or even both? Please someone help me distinguish which ones i should get as i am very bored of WoW

Well, the sticky above has most of the opinions, but the general consensus seems to be Prophecies because of the light learning curve and free skills, allowing you to get a half-decent build without spending too much money. However Nightfall has 'hero skills' which your character can use if they correspond to your Primary profession (not sure about secondary), also it has Heroes, which are quite useful.

I'd say get whichever is cheaper, you don't want to splash out on a couple of games and then find out you don't actually like this game, do you?

See if you can acquire a trial code from someone to see if it fits your taste, although you have to be quite a bit into the game to really see how it is.

I just checked out Amazon and saw this Trilogy, which includes Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. It was around dozen dollars more expensive than the platinum edition. I would recommend that, as the skills and contents from the expansion aren't very critical to your gameplay or builds. It's also a very good deal compared to the platinum edition.

Edit: The trilogy won't be released until September 25th, apparently. Perhaps you can get acquainted with the game during that period.

Depends on your class preference. While Nightfall offers a Paragon and a Dervish class, Factions offers an Assassin and a Ritualist. If you aren't interested in playing either an Assassin or Ritualist, I'd go for GW and/or Nightfall, if you'll be satisfied with game, you can buy GW:EN as it offers some WoWlike timesinks (grinds, dungeons, etc.). If you are into a PvP, having all campaigns is a major plus as you have access to all skills.

For me, I would go Nightfall -> GW -> Factions+GWEN

I would go with the platinum edition (The GW + EotN one, not the factions + EotN version). The best thing going for Nightfall is the Heroes, but they're not much good for someone who doesn't have any knowledge in how to set up their armor, weapons, and skill bars.

With the Platinum Edition, you, as a beginner, get the best of both worlds - Prophecies has a more gentle learning curve, many skills that you can get through quests, and a decent (not great) story-line. EotN gives you access to heroes. Not as many as you'd get in Nightfall, but you can only have 3 of your own heroes in your party anyway.

If you find that you're having fun playing GW, you can always pick up Nightfall (and/or factions) and add it(them) to your account later.

Please DO get any bundles that includes the 1st chapter of guild wars. It's the best in learning curve (although some may think that it's too slow) and it's pretty ^_^

Have fun!

And there you have it. Also, in the future, please read the stickies first.
