Rediculous update?

Well, i was not even slightly excited to see this all mighty M.O.X hero..

First of all, who on earth needs a new dervish hero in pve..? Second of all, its a pve only hero..

They seem to have made it all flashy, but ultimately it's usless. If i wanted to use a dervish in pve, we already have kahmu and meloni, and there's not much point using three dervish in a mission, so why on earth did they make him.

I was just really dissapointed that Anet didnt give us a little more..


Now every party i enter, every player has their mox ready to go.. and sometimes everyone insists on bringing their own mox "It'll look coooooL".
So we have 2-3 mox in our mission, exactly what we need

No I do not agree at all.

It is a welcome bonus, it's not like ANet has the obligation to give us ANYTHING free.

Consider it a bonus, if you don't like it, don't use it. I probably won't use a Dervish hero either, as most of the time I use Necros or Paragons, but it always fun and exciting to see something new, plus it is nice to see ANet's efforts on adding small content. They went through all the work to add a new hero, a new quest, the Fire Imp... they deserve some thanks IMHO.

Maybe they should have given us nothing instead. He's pretty bad ass, and dervish heroes aren't all that bad. People are so deeply ingrained in Sabway, they don't touch anything that's not a necro or ele. Give a WS or DN Orders build a shot, they work pretty well.

The quests had awesome rewards and the quests were fun. Maybe you didn't want to use more than one Dervish hero, but not every update is geared specifically towards the individual. "The community" has had a pretty big backlash against adding a derv hero, but how many people post regularly on guru compared to the number that play the game? The average player got a cool looking hero in a game that's all about collecting things that look cool, a quest with solid rewards, and some new content. If for some reason you want to PuG, I think people bringing a relatively strong hero should be the least of your worries.

Well it depends on the player. Those who like using Dervish heroes are probably happy beacuse, like you mentioned, it's a new kind of hero.

I'm not a fan of using dervish heroes nor do I use my dervish character for anything other than storage, but it doesn't affect me.

However, it's good to have a new quest for a change. Only wished they made it longer, like the scavenger hunt for the Black Moa Chick.

I was a little disappointed that it was just a hero. But, it's easier than a new expansion or some other game changing addition. It'll keep some people happy for a little while. After all, people like shiny things that don't do much for the game (see: High End forum).

That being said, new things are coming. Quests, etc leading up to GW2. So, since they're working on that, I'll be happy with any new content that they'll release. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Yes, I agree. Anet should stop giving us stuff for free, as most players are ungrateful and never satisfied.

I appreciate this because Regina Buenaobra said somewhere that there are only 2 or so people currently working full time on gw1 and some who work part time, so given that fact this is pretty big.

Surely better would have been some sort of uber (didn't want to use super lol) hero for completing all 4 games. e.g only available in HM

What they should have done, were MOX not to be a profession changer, is simply upon recruitment allowed the player to set what profession he was, unchangeable in the future. Many would have liked another Elementalist, others a third Paragon, still others could have chosen MOX to be a profession to replace another hero they didnt like as much. I dont know many people at all that wanted another Dervish. That's the problem.

Jesus you got something for FREE, if this was a p2p game I could understand all the whining and complaining. Its not, you got FREE content plus some sweet rewards for completing the quest.

M.O.X. the Golem Hero

The golem hero, M.O.X., is now available to players who own all three campaigns: the original Guild Wars, Factions, and Nightfall. To obtain M.O.X.:

* in Tyria: Leave Lion's Arch through the northwest gate and you will find M.O.X. in North Kryta Province.
* in Cantha: Leave Kaineng Center through the southeast gate and you will find M.O.X. in Bukdek Byway.
* in Elona: Leave Kamadan through the north gate and you will find M.O.X. in the Plains of Jarin.

Note: Characters from all campaigns must be at least level 10 before they can recruit M.O.X. into their parties.

The Igneous Summoning Stone bonus item, which summons the Fire Imp combat ally, is now available in game to players who have previously purchased any of the following products from the in-game store or PlayNC.com: the original Guild Wars, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, Game of the Year Edition (North America), or the One Million Edition (Europe).

To create the Igneous Summoning Stone, type /bonus into the in-game chat window. As a bonus item, the Igneous Summoning Stone can be created as many times as desired per account. Bonus items cannot be traded.

Note: The Igneous Summoning Stone is intended to help players level up new characters so it can only be used by characters under level 20.

Bug Fixes

* Fixed a graphical bug that covered up a portion of the map in the Gates of Kryta mission.

I love dervish Hero's and now I don't have to use silly Melonni that looks plain. Khamu and MOX with some nice builds I have loaded on them. Free 10k, 10 summoning thingies, 10 tonics, and a fun questline (Difficult at first I might add)

GG anet I love this update. Too bad you can't limit your updates to stay away from unapreciating bastards like the OP. They honestly Don't have to give us shit until GW2 and they would STILL have a large profit so any updates I receive are welcome.

im glad they gave us a lil something new but honestly the dervish heros are the ones i still havnt runed up since i never ever use them. i was realy bummed to hear that it was gonna be a derv. but it looks pretty cool and bla bla bla, its not much but it was free

Lets see, you can only take 3 heroes per person so keeping that in mind we have

3 monks,
3 warriors
3 eles
3 rangers
3 necros

so any additional core characters would be useless (except for the mesmer I guess but 3 hero mesmers would be useless in PvE since they can't use CoP)

So what is left

RTs
Sins
Dervishes
Paragons

I myself would have liked a paragon more then a derv but as it is I barely use my hero's anymore anyway.

It just goes to show you that you can never make anyone happy and people will always want more.

There are people out there who would complain about a free Bentley because it was the wrong color.

MOX should have been an open profession, meaning the player could choose what primary profession it was. Only human dervishes are useful (well, majority of them). Since I'm on this subject: I HATE WARRIORS WITH HEALING BREEZE AND/OR MENDING ON THEIR SKILL BAR. RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO.

There will be one more update in a week. Oh, and BTW, you're not supposed to have anything more "in return". You've once paid for a game and got it. That's it. They could have just stopped caring about people complaining about the lack of new content and don't give you ANYTHING this month.

I think we'll see a Derv-way hero team build come up soon. Dervishes can be pretty tough. I think it will be cool

And MOX aside, how can everyone be complaining about new content/quests with AWE FREAKING SOME rewards... 10k gold + tonics... are you kidding me? When have we seen that kind of reward for a quest before?

I'm a big Sabway player when I H/H, so MOX most likely won't get a lot of play from me. Am I complaining? Hells naw. It's a free hero, free gold and something new and different to do.

Sure I'd like to see other changes (*cough* HOM *cough*), but little things like this help keep me interested and playing the game.
