I've managed to get up to a wall of vines then it says:

"Attune the thorn pedestal to clear the vine gate."

I have tried everything I can think of, can someone please tell me what I should be doing.

If you're doing the mission I think you are (Its been a while) you need to grab the crystal from the druid and place it on the pedestal. That will get rid of the vine wall and allow you to continue
