recomendation for price check forum.

I have an idea for this forum.. someone should delete the entire price check forums and go make a simple post that says "items of value in gw"

Because im sure at this point there are only like 50 items total in gw that are actually worth selling to another player.

I say this because it seems like price checkers really hate to actually price check. a collection of recomended prices would eliminate the need for a price check forum..

because lets be honest.. other than minipets and about 2 items total.. you can predict that all items will become even more worthless in this game.

Although having a single centralized post sounds useful, it is highly impractical for some rather significant reasons.

First of all, there are more than 50 items which are worth a significant amount. Just because something goes for under 100, 10, or is worth only 1k doesn't make it worthless. Consider that most of the players in the game have under 10k, and as such have a collective interest in the value of items priced under 10k.

Secondly, how would you put up a generic price-check for every perfect or near-perfect item in the game? It's one thing to say a r9 inscription Crystalline Sword is worth a given amount, seeing as how the cost of any possible mods pales in comparison to the cost of the weapon clean. In comparison, how do you price check a non-inscription Gloom Shield with stats such as -3 while hexed and +1 Healing Prayers 19%? Would you include a price for every possible combination of mods on every possible weapon at every possible req?

Lastly, I'm sure you've noticed if you were checking the stickies that they're somewhat out of date. It's a massive project to keep those updated, as players find new ways to farm popular skins, as well as come across the more common in their travels. Imagine updating the above list of epic proportions on a regular basis, at the very least once a week.

Single worst idea in recent times.

#1 - There is more then 50 items worth selling (anything can be sold)
#2 - Creating said list and then maintaining it would become a full time job
#3 - There isn't one person with enough knowledge playing the game anymore
#4 - Prices on Guru vary from prices in-game
#5 - People value items differently

I created the first stickied PC thread many years ago, it just wasn't worth the hassle in the end.

By all means give it a go, but you'll fail.
