After you save Kormir and you run across the bridge and are about to go down the stairs. I think like 15 to to 20 Kournan b@$#ards run up the stairs and just annihilate you. I have been heroing and henching mostly and even tried a Fail PUG. I am an Ele by the way.
And I even tried Terra Tanking but the NPCs follow me and die and we fail.
I can't effectively pull because the NPCs follow me and lag behind and die.
Rushing Fails, I've tried water ele snares with earth and fire AoE. And many other things.
PUGs refuse to understand the concept of keeping the NPCs with them, when i pull, they follow, die, and we fail.
Not to mention the Kournan Priest is the most powerful HM monk in nightfall and there are like 3 of them.
Help me
Need advice, Pogahn's Passage HM

For the record, I hate the Skree Griffins more because of Healer's Boon and then just heal spam. Kournan Priests are probably a close second.
It took me a couple tries there, too - if you have the capability, set up Margrid with [[Broad Head Arrow] and [[Epidemic] and lock her onto a priest. You have to take them out first or else you're just screwed. I would very, very rarely suggest this skill BTW but maybe even [[Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support] for that chance of insta-kill.
TBH I had guildie help for that one - a lot of missions I got done H/H, but now and then if they were on I'd ask for some support and they'd always be willing to lend a hand.

not sure this post is in the right forum but here goes anyway ...
After you save kormir and return at the bridge there will be a group of 5-6 kournans waiting for you. Kill them and flag your party where they were (at the end of the bridge). Move forward alone until you see a big group (about 8) of kournans suddenly taking off towards your direction (don't get to close to the stairs as there is another group there). The group that is coming up the stairs towards you is scripted to delay their attack so that you fall into a double aggro trap if you were to move your entire team. When you see the script trigger and that mob on the move just run back to you flagged heroes and wait for them. In less than a minute they will be coming at the bridge. Kill them and then proceed to kill the other group of kournans at the bottom of the stairs and so on ....
PS: long reply, but hope you get the point

PS: long reply, but hope you get the point My memory is also that there are two groups rather than one big one. You have to pull one of them back, although I don't rmember having to go so far as to get my trusty longbow out.
Off-topic, kinda, pulling is a great tactic and one you'll have to learn for hardmode. Likewise interupts on pesky monk, although that's not why you're failing here.
Sorry I just noticed you're in HM. Sorry for being patronising. My bad. keep your distance and be aware of the scripting like the guy above said.

can u bring a hero with [barrage] + [splinter weapon]? It seems as though Anet thinks it clever to always place a bunch of bowmen at key entry points or at the tops of stairs, which can work to a [barrage] hero's advantage, as it won't cause the same scatter as AoE damage does in HM. A typical mob will have a priest and a scribe, which is probably the most dangerous kournan combo imo. I start (kournan) skirmishes with [pain inverter] on the scribe, then [distracting shot] and [savage shot] to try and interrupt the priest's healing. If more than one scribe, I do the same as above but concentrate on interrupting the second (or third sometimes) scribe and lock the others onto the priest. The henchmen can handle most of the melee aggro. I always bring an illusion henchmen to help with interrupts, too. I've tried [broadhead arrow] but you have to wait until the priest is set in position to use, otherwise they always seem to dodge it, plus the [barrage] setup seems to be more helpful damage-wise. I know ur ele, but perhaps you can work some of that into ur hero build(s)...hth and gl

try the new and improved [[thunderclap] on the priests/scribes if you're an ele. also the two groups will seperate, i believe. you just have to hang back and wait for it.

The key to a lot of Elonian missions is to get rid of 1) priests and 2)scribes. Uninterrupted priests have literally unlimited energy, thanks to zealous benediction. As Joshua said, thunderclap works wonders on them, but taking either a hero or player with broad head arrow can make things a lot easier. Do not forget that at the end, you will face a very tough elementalist boss (especially if you're doing things in HM), so unbalancing your team in order to get through an annoying situation in the middle of a mission is never a good idea.
If you're doing this alone, remember that as the leader of your party there will be times that you will need to flag your heroes, making you an isolated target. Earth magic is the way to go, considering the high amounts of melee output by the enemy.
3 abilities that should always be in your earth magic skill bar when doing things alone are: kinetic armor, stone daggers, and earth attunement. At 16 earth magic, you have 144 armor, which makes you a deadly target. For melee crowds, I like to take sandstorm and ward against melee, accompanied by glyph of lesser energy and eruption.
One easy solution to your problem would be to take gwen with all interruption skills and mantra of recovery, and lock her in to your desired caster target, preferably a scribe while you order the rest of your heroes to get rid of the priest.
I know this is lengthy, but I wanted you to see a tiny bit of the gammut of possibilities you have at your disposal.

Unless of course that 'unbalancing' is to bring massive caster hate (BHA <3 u), in which case it is far easier. As I remember, I did it with a guildy...I used a alt of Rac paras, with magrid on BHA, and he used Sabs.....not much help to you, unless you can fnind a good para. If you're still havin troubles with this one PM me and we can do it.

2. Since you are elementalist then be sure to have Koss and Meloni in your party or fighter and holy henchmen. They need to tank so that you can cast AoE spells. It should be easy.
