Mesmer Hero Illusion or Dominate?

I've been using Gwen as a domination caster interrupter, but would she be better being more illusion based, with skills like fevered dreams and wandering eye etc?

It depends on a lot of things, like what sort of enemies you will be facing. Figuring out whether you need hex removal, for example. Heroes have pretty good AI as far as interrupts go, so that is usually a good bet. Just try out different things and tailor the build to the area.

Agreed with above - in fact, why not have Gwen as your domination/interrupt, and Norgu as your illusion/anti-melee?

Heros are great interupters, so probably best to set it up with an interupt focused build. Although if your team has low defense you could take ineptitude/clumsieness/wanderingeye and some defense from other profs e.g. Aegis or Wards.

Run Gwen as a hybrid with a few Dom interrupts and a few Illusion skills. Hybrid = best of both worlds.

I'd go for dom too. Not only massive interrupts but also some "moderate" damage. But i usually combo it with inspiration for power drain and some nice energy management.

I am running Livia as my mesmer of choice.
Discord (since the mesmers have shitty elites - and AP is a bit tricky to pull off when I am also running it), SR and I have fallen in love with Illusion goodies that are SV/AV. Illusion also offers some nice degen hexes - which suck - BUT they are really nice as the hex to trigger Discord. And then CoF and PReturn - which require no investment to work.
Godly e-management, insane damage and super support.
As much as I love Fatass - Livy just outdoes him.

I used to use Norgu as my domination mesmer while Gwen was my illusion/anti-___ (put in caster/melee for specific regions in Hard Mode).
