GW is Guild Wars and GW:EN is the Guild Wars Eye of the north. I am not sure if there is a post for this already but that is a start.

Slang, we do not use slang. Every player and poster uses proper grammar and complete words and sentences. If you see anything that looks like slang, you are mistaken.

What you should do before just jumping in and asking questions is to look around a bit, read the stickies and such. You can also search if you're looking for something specific. If all else fails, then ask a question here.
