The only difference between any of them is Ogden is a DWARF so disease will not spread to your party if it's only on him.

Hey Mallyx [icU]

He's a henchman... But anyway. Whenever I use heroes I use the same principle for when I create characters: I make my monks small, my warriors big. Who would make a better dervish: MOX or Kahmu? If you don't know the answer... ugh.

Even 3 years after game release, PuG mentality < mob mentality... Grenth save me...

The only way that one Hero would outperform another Hero is if their attributes are higher due to Profession/Runes.

If my Tahl uses a Prot Headpiece, she's going to have better Prots
If my Dunk uses a Heal Headpiece, he's going to have better Heals

That's IT. As long as the Heroes are runed/sigged the same, with the same skillbar and the same attribute spread, the only way they don't perform the same is because the player bringing the Hero has them set on Attack / Guard / Avoid, or if they are using a weapon set that doesn't complement their attributes and skillbar. PERIOD. End of discussion.

As far as my personal preference, I like a varied party. After playing with very few non-human choices for henchman (Talon Silverwing and the Wallows in Factions being exceptions), I like having a Dwarf, Asura, Centaur, Norn, and Charr in my party if possible. It breaks up the tedium that is the Human restriction in the game.

Actually, no one, except the GW programmers, knows if there are real AI differences between the heroes and until/unless they state that there is or is not, we can't be sure.
But my vote is for - no, there's no difference between Dunkoro and Tahlkora - but, on the other hand, why couldn't there be?

Just take Tahlkora 'cuz she doesn't look like a pedophile.

The only thing I have seen is Dunk has a tendency to not heal himself and die when he was my primary healer when i first got him in NF. But that could just be a constant random fluk. And he all out spams Mark of Protection in a Prot or Prot/Smite build. But that is probbaly due to scripting to use elites. Personaly I prefer Talkora. That is what it boils down to, preference. I ususaly don't offer to take my heros unless no one else has them, too many people only want to see certain skills on a skill bar...being their style of play not your own. If they don't like your hero you dont have to bring it, simple.
We're here to play and have fun not argue with annoying peple about hero's.

Whilst I tend to agree with most that the Hero AI is the same - it seems that the programmers have some leeway for adding 'character' to each Hero by tweaking some parameters e.g aggressiveness/passiveness, range to attack, when to heal and so on.

I have Tahlkora and Dunkoro set up with the same skill set, runes and weapons - to heal, as I use a MM mainly when alone (my friend has a Sabway team which we use otherwise). What I have noticed is that Dunkoro seems to need more prodding to do his 'job' sometimes - otherwise he spends his time fighting (which is the basis of his 'story' in Nightfall) and so can see some party members die while he stands looking on. Tahlkora, on the other hand seems to be quite content to heal all she can regardless of what's happening around her. For this reason, she gets a space in my party most of the time because I 'trust' her more (weird -trusting an AI) and Dunkoro only gets a space when he's required.

Apart from the fact that heroes AI seems to blow a fuse every now and then and do something silly you didn't order them to do, I can't say I've ever noticed any difference in how two heroes with the same bar behaves.

Logic seems to dictate that if Anet actually had gone through the trouble of giving them different personalities reflected in their performance, they would have mentioned that fact in their advertising: "AI controlled heroes you can customize. They will all behave differently according to their unique personal nature when not given direct commands".
