hi,

i've been trying this mission for a few days now and i just can't seem to get it
all goes fine until we get to the crystal running where we have to atune it before the white mantle
problem is that we need bonus too so only choice we got is to kill all white mantle
usually everything goes fine, we have the first attuned and take the second left
we keep em of at the center and have one runner attuning it each time we lose it
but after some time the white mantle come with a group of savants that usually kills us
any tips on how to do this?

I had 1 permasin with speed buffs attune crystals while the rest of the group did the bonus. Once bonus was done, come back and finish attuning the crystals.

One of the few HM missions I actually did with real people. Did it with the guild I was in at the time, so we were at least moderately organized using vent. Since it was a pretty random assortment of professions with not much leeway for change, I decided to do the mission and bonus seperately, as prophecies will let you do. The first time through, we held the white mantle at the choke point before the crystals, killing the runners as we could (using snares of course), while one ranger went and killed the bonus guy. At this point, one of the runners managed to break through, so we just died and began again, with bonus completed. We then just went back through and had two people run crystals normally, ignoring the mantle, and finished the main mission rather easily.

Been a while since I did it, but I think I remember how:

Put a MM in your team and set up near one of the far crystals. They'll bodyblock the runner while the rest of your team kills it, along with any enemies that come by. Meanwhile, you run crystals.

If your team isn't fighting anything, pull a small mob to them with a bow in between crystal runs.

The whole thing takes some getting used to, and you probably won't figure a way to do it yourself until you've failed a couple times.

Here's how I did it you may have to do it quite a few times to get the desired position.

1. Clear out as normal up to the 2 shrines which you have to attune, do not attune them.

A. Go to the closed gate and look for a Warthog (pig) remember to pin any minion masters back or anything that might consume the corps.

B. Kill the Warthog and use {necrotic transversal} you will now be on the other side of the gate.

C. Give everyone else in your party a vampiric weapon to sack there health.

D. If your using h/h make sure you've pinned any healers away from the heros, and disable all healing spells/skills so that they die.

E. Rebirth your comrades to your location behind the gate, you can do this with only 3 hero's so it doesn't matter about the other 2 henchmen.

F. If the Warthog is not there go to /resign and go to step 1.

2. When you find Demagogue will be all by his lone sum, no one anywhere in sight kill him (bonus complete)

3. Use the Thorn Pedestal (Crystal) that you likely passed on the way to him to attune all the others once this is completed everyone will be transported to the final part of the mission.

At least that is how I did it.

Cheat: necrotic traversal / consume corpse on the pig that's sometimes spawns behind the closed gate (might take a couple of attempts)

Official way: Kill all foes and kill bonus guy after or have one team member solo the bonus guy.
He's not that hard, my illusions mesmer got him down fast and easy a couple of times now.

Slower: Do bonus first with someone while the other player keeps crystals tuned. When bonus is done and mission is failed replay and tune all crystals since you don't have to care about the bonus.

Good luck!

I H/H'ed this with following tactics:

Me as runner with a gay toucher bar (R/N),
No necros because you're basically giving free armor to the Mantle,
No minions because they'll drag more than one monk at one time,
Ward ele (if you can bring against Harm water ele, even better),
Power Block hero with 2 or maybe three enchantment removal,
Don't remember last hero, but probably was hybrid monk,
Alesia,
Don't remember last henchie, could be Dunham or Thom.

Flagged them all spreaded on the closest crystal, me running crystalsbetween the two shrines untill they were all dead. Took a few tries though, about 5+, you gotta be lucky no more than one monk comes at one time.

Gonna search for the thread that has the tactics...

EDIT: Here it is, in the first page, the post from Numa:

Leader-Legion of Avalon [LoA] Alliance-Recruiting PM for info!

Did this last night-didn't even have to use a team mate dedicated to running. We held the middle section, and ran crystals back and forth between the left crystal thingy (so'd we always had two going).

The groups would then either come down the middle (where we ganked 'em) or to the left (where we ignored them). Eventually you'll kill all the guys and then all you need to do is gank the Dema-thingy.

Damn, that one was a bastard. Definitely in my top 5 worst missions on the way to Legendary Guardian.

Basically we had to assemble a 5-man group that could take on anything that came at us. The 6th person spent almost all their time manipulating the White Mantle crystal running teams. Draw one off to the side, send the next to the center, rinse, repeat - it effectively cut the intensity of the fighting in half. We made sure our fighting group had lots of elemental defense, interrupts, and some reliable snares for the all-important White Mantle crystal runner. Minions worked very well to help with body-blocking.

That's all I can remember about that horrible mission. Good luck.

This mission is easy when you have one player who knows how crystal running works. I have helped several alliance members through the mission + bonus as a runner. When the running starts everybody else goes around the White Mantle base and ganks the Demagogue, and when the bonus is completed I immediately attune the last pedestal and we're on our way to a completed mission. A single runner can trivially win the crystal race if s/he has a permanent speed boost and knows the proper order to run. That is also by far the fastest way to complete the bonus.

Flag heros and henchies DOwn in middle, but some speed skills in and Run back a forward capping shrines, just dont cap 3rd 1 till all the enemies stop coming, then once they stopped kill the demogauge, then cap last shrine, then kill the big Behemoth boss and missions finished

i acctually found this mission to be very easy in HM.....i found all the misison nearly to be to easy

Missions i found tough in HM
1.D'Alessio Seaboard(had to report a glitch that was making the groups spawn over time/ A-net fixed the glitch, then the mission was to easy)
2.Dzagnour Bastion(once i realised what i had to do it got easier, lol)
3.Eteranl grove(had to get a guildie to hold off 1 side while i held off the other)

no missions are really Hard, even for HM, but prophecies was deffinaitely the hardest of all campaigns////and GWEN is just to easy in general and in HM
