When I run GW:EN I need to run it through 3d Analyze in order to avoid crashes in areas such as Rata Sum. Am I allowed to use a macro that automatically launches guildwars through 3d-analyze, then logs me in to my char and opens my friend and guild rosters? Or would this contravene the rules?

It is a bit tedious having to locate gw.exe through the 'browse' in 3da every time i want to play

I would say it is not against the EULA if it makes no difference to your gameplay. I, as many players do, use the -password command line to log into gw, hoping to bypass any keylogger software.

But read the EULA and other legal stuff on guildwars.com

http://www.guildwars.com/support/legal/

Also, here is the command line page on wiki http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line

That's the type of stuff that a lot of players use; some are combined in use.

I would think any macro that would allow you to walk away from your computer(for any length of time) and still have you considered as playing would be against the rules.

What you're doing, however, doesn't seem to be wrong. You can always shoot support an email to clarify their position on your particular program and macros.

Someone ban that idiot quick !

On topic - Macros are discussed in detail in at 1 thread that I know of concerning the Logitech G15 keyboard. You should have a look at that thread.

3d Analyze is not a macro but a 3rd party program which may affect the graphics rendering of Guild Wars. Strictly it is not allowed because it is a 3rd party program affecting GW. Practically I think the same policy would apply as TexMod which falls into the same class.
