So everytime i start GW it's process priority is set to lowest. I want to change this to normal, so it won't get hampered by surfing or other multitasking i am doing when i play gw.
Anyway to overrule, or maybe remove this default priority setting?
Running on Wxp sp2.
Thanks.
edit; i read some things of 'when gw is at background it's set to lowest automatically', but i don't want it to do that. I mostly multitask when loading a map or something, which results in gw hanging for longer then normal.

Other than to manually set it every time, there's no way to do. When it's minimized or in the background, it puts it on a lower priority. It's a Windows thing that does this, I'm fairly certain, so there's no easy way around it.

I don't know about the priority - it seems to me that the standard setting would be that it whould run at a normal priority. To speed things up you might consider running Guild Wars once with as "GW.EXE -image". This will force GW to download ALL files, so that you never have to pause during the game to download. You do this once, thereafter start it up with GW.EXE as usual.

I know about the -image, and i'm just talking about the loading itself. It normally (if i stay focussed) is no problem, but i'm impatient and do things while loading. Though i get punished for it, because my front application (i.e. surfer or w/e) gets prority (which i don't want).
Though, it seems there's no real easy sollution, so i'll just stick to waiting longer, or not multitask

How'd you make it go down to low in the first place?

Appereantly Windows does
Because I would never do something like that.

If you set it manually, you will have to set it every single time you start GW. I don't know of anyway to permenantly assign CPU priorities.
You can also set your cores (if you have a multi-core processor) to deal with certain tasks - this may also speed things for you. You can isolate a core to deal with GW if you want, but once again you will have to set this everytime you boot the program.
