Vanquish/Cartographer & Guardian Time Requirements...
fgarvin
Just wondering, if y'all had to guess, about how long do you think it would take to get the following titles:
Legendary Vanquisher/Legendary Cartographer (they sync well)
Legendary Guardian
Will mostly be using H/H for these...odd playing times and long AFKs due to new dad responsibilities.
I'm sure a good number of HM Missions require real players to complete with Bonus/Masters.
Thanks

It can vary so much depending on how fast you kill, how lucky you are finding the roaming groups, the make up your team and how you go about tackling areas (ie doing a long ascalon run from ToA for instance can make a big difference having 7H/h as opposed to the 3 allowed near to Ascalon) to be able to give any accurate time estimate.
Congratulations on your new arrival!

Nah, everything can be done H/H.
I'd say rigourously playing (continuous titles nothing much else apart from RL) leg guardian in maybe a week week and a half. Cantha can be done in half a day.
Vanquisher, probably 2-3weeks? Add on X amount of hours/days/weeks because of your AFK times.

possibility to h/h seems to be dependant from your class
I'd say save yourselves paragon or warrior is easier by far than ele or mesmer ...

if u find another person to do it with so u can get 6 heroes you can prob do it all in 2-3 weeks. H/H is doable but i found it much much easier and faster with 2 people. Try 2 MMs, it makes vanquishing very easy in many areas.

In my case it was: VQ Tyria: 4 full days (most with H/H), I did a lot of caravan vanquishing. So I started in TOA and went all the way to Eastern Frontier. Then from TOA to falls in Maguuma. To do desert I suggest going from NF and moving to Tyria via Crystal Overlook. Cantha and Elona took me 3 days so it makes 10 full days total. Legend Guardian took similar amount of time. Everything can be done with H/H however it is much faster to do it with a friend and 6 heroes (sabway + paragons does wonders). I suggest you have a look at the guides available on guru since some missions are quite hard to be done with H/H such as Eternal Groove and some areas hard to vanquish such as Majesty rest and Jokos domain. Many nice tips you can find in the GWAMM guide in the community works section.

I have found that easy areas take about 45 minutes with H/H and hard areas take about an hour and a half. On average though i finish within 5 minutes of an hour. On exceptionally hard areas (ones that i have failed at least twice) i will use consumables and finish in thirty minutes. I am also trying to get cartographer as well as treasure hunter, skill hunter, and wisdom. So I am taking time to do all that.
Also be sure to bring hero or lightbringer scrolls to deal with DP. The more DP you have the slower the run will go, because the more you have to micro to account for the DP. The foes tend to attack the weakest player. My master of whispers is always getting picked on.
It depends on the area as well as your balance of offense/defense. Running two monks instead of three will kill faster but leave you more vulnerable to death penalty. Play around with, communing rits, paragons, ward eles, to find the right balance of offense and defense. If you can't kill stuff fast enough then it can takes ridiculously long times as well as be incredibly frustrating.
Know what your getting into before you get into it. For example, going into Hidden City of Adashim, there is no use to bring a Minion master because there are very little corpses, also there are very few healers. This means that you can allow for more defensive play because you don't have to worry for accounting for a healer. So bring paragons, communing rits and ward eles. This is opposed to doing turai's procession where every kournan group has an extremely powerful monk with zealous benediction. So you need to bring enough spike damage to eliminate the monk before their team has enough time to wear your monks down on energy and gain the advantage.
Basically when vanquishing its the details that make the biggest difference. While sabway works very well generally, accommodating for the area is the most important thing to do when considering team builds especially with henchmen.

every area in the game is doable with h/h, youll need to adapt to each area, and with heros itll take you about 3 or so weeks to do all the VQing if thats all you do.If you use cons or other people youll considerably shorten the time.
P.S- congrats on becoming a dad.

Edit: They didn't have consumables or PvE skills when I did these on my GWAMM so my advice may be out dated compared to some of these other posters.

I just finished Leg Cart last night. I have been playing for 25 months...I still need 14 areas in Tyria and 11 in Elona til I have Leg Vanq. I got leg guard about 7 months ago, then Leg Skill capper, then Leg Master of the north plus all rep titles before I did Lots of Vanq stuff
I am a dad with a wife that works and a 4 year old and a 18 month old.
I run a Necro Primary and it takes me between 45 to 75 Minutes to vanq depending on the foes in the area. I play usually 3-4 hours per night and I do not ususally play during the day on weekends (house projusect, family Responsibilities, etc) Iexpect that I can do 1-2 areas per night. That being said, I should be Leg Vanq in 2-3 weeks.
Don't let thes guys kid you...as a new dad if you are feeding rocking and infant and you want to get back on GW, the kid will never go to sleep.
Plan on 3-4 months to knock it all out

vanquisher = 1-1.5hrs per area x 121 areas = 121-181.5 hrs
vanquisher+cartography = +15-30mins per area x 121 areas = +30-60hrs
guardian = 20-40mins per mission x 58 missions = 20-40hrs
(does not include set-up/load/idle/unsuccessful run times)

if you are GOOD and by that you know how to class works (its mechanics etc.) and can play good bars not lame-crap that mostly fails any class can easily do any vanq......found I could do with the same heroes eastern frontier and diessa faster on my mes and rit then I could on my war? hmm....it all depends on how well you can play the class / have good hero setups!
on-topic:
leg guardian: I'd say a week if you are good....
Tyria can be done in 24h thats at the most if you allow 1h for each mission lol....maybe 18h?
cantha: bout 6h if you are good
elona: erm.....GoP and GoM are sods so around 15h? maybe
vanqs? bout 1.5h per vanq at an average - dunno the maths lol I study forensics not maths lol (don't check that plz ^^)
Solas
yeah around 1 to2 hours per vanq. (210~ if they averaged, thats with being semi afk and looking for last group for 30 min+) the luxon areas are around 30 min each though.
Cartographer was a bit hit and miss for me, ended up starting it furst and getting stuck, got the last .5% of elona by vanq.ing in places i never would have guessed.
Gaurdian can vary per mission but tyria was around 30min-1 hour, maybe more if you get stuck in a part.
Cantha and elona are much faster with less missions and shorter time in missions. but may have the odd hiccup.
Have fun

Most ares can be done in 30-40 min just long enough for one set of consumes to run out.
The setup i always used was 1 war with ursan(me) a moded version of sab with way more offence and less healing, because the consumes give you more defence and offence.
I havent tried the new ursan but it should be fine, the barbs pluss minions does much more dmg anyway.
If you can find a friend you can split up in 2 groups and do the vanq much faster. A sab group wont have a problem in 90% of the areas.
The only areas I struggeld with was the areas in nf where you had to use the damn wurm. Entering the worm wipes your consumes and it either makes it a very exspensiv or very hard area to do.
For me vanquishing was the last thing I had fun doing in gw. Consumables makes it a fast paced and action filled 30 minutes.
Check wiki for areas that can be done in 1-2 minutes because of bugs that has to do with quest. Run it with textmod and get leg cart at the same time.
