Some basic Heroes questions
stupidjoe26
Alright currently I have prophecies only and am going to be purchasing EOTN very soon. However having never used heroes before I have a couple questions.
1: Seem to remember hearing that if Character A has a weapon customized for him, that his heroes can still use that weapon. Is that correct? If so I assume that would apply to the bonus items as well?
2: If I purchased the Nightfall Skill unlock pack that would unlock Nightfall skills for my heroes and pvp characters, but is there anyway to get the elite skills from Nightfall for my heroes(pve) without purchasing Nightfall?
3: If heroes get a share of loot does that loot just disappear or do I get that loot as well?

1. Yes, heroes can use weapons customized for your character.
2. Use an elite tome.
3. The loot is gone.

Thanks for the quick response. Just to make sure I understand the answer to my second question. So if I got the unlock pack then all elites are unlocked and I can get them with a tome? But only for my heroes right?
Savio
Oh, wait, you just want them for your heroes and not yourself? They'll already have the elite skills then; if it's unlocked for your account, it's unlocked for your heroes.

I thought that you had to have a campaign linked to your account to acquire that campaign's specific skills. Like, I tried to capture an elite in EotN, but it said I need to have a Nightfall key linked to the account to capture it. Would a Nightfall skill unlock pack allow me to cap that elite?

Since I have all the games I am not sure if this works when you add Eye of the North.
There is a hero in Prophesies and another in Factions they became available to me when I got nightfall.
But I assume you would be able to recruit the prophesies hero when you add Eye to the account.

Sorry for necroposting, but I have a very related question. I am currently Prophecies only and I have Factions, Nightfall, & GW:EN en-route to me as I type this. My question is, when I unlock a hero, is that hero unlocked for just that character, or are they unlocked for my account?
And since skills were being discussed, earlier... If I learn a skill on one character, does it unlock it on the account so that my other characters can acquire it by speaking to a trainer?
(I know, n00b questions, forgive me, I played the game when it first came out, but gave up before ascension, I'm now nearing the end of the prophecies storyline, so I ordered the rest of the games.)

As with all unlocks, it only applies to PvP. You'll have to obtain the hero and accessorise each time for PvE characters.

Also, the skill will be available to all of your heroes on all characters.
Dimitrius
Thanks for clearing that up, Quaker.
I appreciate it.

I appreciate it.

For you skill unlock questions you need to take a look here:
http://www.guildwars.com/products/ex...ks/default.php
This should answer all your questions about the unlock packs.
For full details on unlocking a hero, here is what wiki says:
Obtaining a hero
A hero must first be unlocked or earned before it can be added to the party. Only players with Nightfall or Eye of the North can acquire heroes. In PvE access to a hero is per character and the player must complete specific quests tied to the storyline with the character before being able to access a specific hero. The first time a quest which grants access to a hero is completed on the account the hero is also unlocked for PvP characters on the player's account. A hero can also be unlocked using Balthazar faction. Repeat: when unlocking a hero using faction, that hero is ONLY available for your PvP characters. You will not be allowed to use that hero in PvE mode.
Unlocking a hero for the first time may also unlock skills for the account, as each hero is given a standard set of skills for them to use.
