how to change your name

ive been seeing some people changing there names recently, and i want to change my name to.
ive heard that some people asked their friends to report them for their name so guild wars requires you to change your name, but thats what I heard.

i assume if people reported you for your name anet would go "lolwut" and then not do anything about it.

Have friend report you claiming your character name means "i do your mom daily" in swahili or something.

^^^first stop and consider if the potential and likely ban (temporary) is really worth it...

in my opinion its probably worth it for me cause i dont even do much in guild wars anymores anyways and i got other things to do ^^

sounds like u bought or hi jacked an account, or it wouldnt be a problem

well it is understandable for some ppl to want to change their names and will risk a ban to do so. that feeling u get when u feel ur chars and just the way u like them is pretty awesome, and u can quit in peace after.

ArenaNet only requests a name change if they consider your character's name to be offensive -not because someone reports you.

Its impossible to change your character name unless it is offensive.
Maybe you can expect to see that in gw2. But if your saying that its worth a ban to you because you dont play gw a lot than why would you care what your character name is

Delete the character...
Re Invent the charcter...
Re name the character...

All done.. All by yourself.

The getting reported by your friend seems risky lol, best thing you could do is remake.

On-topic: No, you can't change your name. And tricking ANet into allowing you to change with a report is not something that I would advise. (If only because ANet also reads this forum )

And because asking your friends to abuse the report system may or may not lead to actions against them as well.
