Texmod & Guru acount name question

Hi

Got the following few questions:

1: I finaly got my new laptop, so I got a high enough DirectX version to use TexMod, but now it seems there is a Trojan Horse in it. I downloaded it on these sites:

They all got put in quarantaine by my virus scanner cause a Trojan Horse was in it. Anyone knows a safe place to download it?


2: Well when I was making an account here on guru I was kinda stupid, cause I thought they ment with account name, character name. So I put my character name, but I now think its rather ugly. So I was wondering:

Is it possible to change Crucist Ovv into something else?

You'll find the texmod you're using is safe. It often throws up a fake trojan flag as it is constantly making temporary extensions which make it seem like the behaviour of a trojan.

1. The trojan response is a "false positive". Texmod downloaded from a trusted sourced (as in those you used) is safe. It's glitchy though, so I only recommend you use it to do your cartography title and then dump it.

2. The simplest thing to do is to start a new account on Guru with the name you like.

In regards to the name, I would suggest you PM Inde about it. She may be willing to change your forum name to something you want. Aside from that, you'd have to create a new account, then PM Inde and let her know you made a new account and to close the old one because you'd have two accounts presumably posting from the same IP address.

I will be the one to simply state caution about downloading from the wiki site, remember it can be changed , and you would have to dig to find out why.

i would venture to guess that the other 2 links might be safer unless that one was used to upload a corrupted file as well.

i have yet to have my pc yell at my textmod, but ....
