Hai guise.

I just capped AoM on my new derv (damn she's sexy), and I can't decide what to use, skill and equipment-wise. No, I don't want to know why AoM is weak even though you're immune to blind, daze, cripple, weakness and DW, just want tips.

No, I DO NOT want to know why AoM is weak when compared to Lyssa's/WS. Yes I readed the sticky, yet I would like further advice.

You'll see, there are just too many options, too many good stuff, and too little space.

The basics are obviously Eternal Aura, Wearying Strike, AoM and Heart of Fury.

What else? I mean, there's Attacker's Insight, Mystic Sweep, Eremite's Attack, Aura of Holy Might, Chilling Victory, Victorious Sweep, Faithful Intervention, Conviction, Aura of Sancticity, a res, Wild Blow, SY! and many other stuff I don't remember because I can't play atm.

What do you guys reccommend and why? Will it be very zone/conditions dependant (as in, what I'm facing?)?

I'm also using a staff to cast all the stuff, and typically use a zealous, 15^50, +30hp scythe, with a +1 hood for the scythe, but thinking of buying a +1 for Mysticism.

Well bai for now.

too much energy demanding.....[avatar of melandru] requires 25 energy, which is like 85% energy for a normal runed dervish....use adreanaline attack with spear or [flail] instead of [heart of fury]....i don't actually use AoM cos it cost too much energy and it's not that offensive...

I would highly suggest Attacker's Insight at 3+1 so that you get two basically free attack skills - you need something along those lines to account for all the energy that AoM takes.

Past that, I'd probably choose Aura of Holy Might for big domage, Mystic Sweep since you've got at minimum two enchants on at all times, and then an optional skill (preferably an attack) to change upon where you are. Victorious Sweep, Eremite's, and Wild Blow would probably be my main three choices.

As for your setup, I'd stick with what you have and run 12+1+1 Scythe, 12+1 Mysticism, 3+1 Wind.

start with
[Avatar of Melandru][Eternal Aura][Aura of Holy Might][Wearying Strike]

you also need an IAS. these builds get so expensive that I would just stick with drunken master.

now you have 3 slots left, at least 2 of them should be attacks. cheap yet effective is your goal here. Victorious sweep should never leave your bar. then either something cheap or something fast, Whirlwind attack is pretty sweet when you dont have anything else using adrenaline, and eremite's attack qill let you mini-spike which is always nice.

that last slot should be another attack skill, a rez, or a crazy PvE skill.

attributes: 12+1+1 scythe, 12+1 myst like every other build. make sure to use a zealous scythe.

I'd run Flail and something else, though. If you're using a Necro (obviously with Foul Feast), don't bother with Draw.

What I'd do is use a staff set, cast your enchantments, switch to a zealous scythe and swing until I get a decent amount of energy, swap to a sundering scythe and blow shit up. If you don't want sundering run vampiric, but I highly recommend sundering for the incredibly huge damage of a sundercrit.

Get someone else to put enchants on you, like a monk smiter or a prot monk with aegis or RoF, or have a necro throw a death nova, withering aura, or some such at you. They'll fuel your energy for you.

I like to mix the survivor's and radiant insignias on a derv, especially with Melandru, since you get bonus health with that form anyway, and dervs get +25 on their armor to start with. I usually get at least 29-30 energy with almost or over 600 HP out of the form.

I kinda like Lyssa's assault, it's like a free attack if you're enchanted and can pay for it, and you can get 4 wind prayers real easy for attackers insite. I like Zealous renewal too, AoE Holy is fun, and the energy it returns will usually top me off when I need it. Zealous sweep is decent too.

Zealous Renewal is bad. It returns the energy when you need it least, and there's always Zealous Sweep for consideration if Attacker's Insight isn't enough.

^hasn't really been my experience with it, it usually kicks in when I need it to, or I can see that it's about to end and spend some juice so it isn't wasted.

Well bai for now. This is my generic Melandru Build

[AoM; OgGjkyqDLTyXkbBYBF9gygibCAA]

Pretty standard stuff...wild blow can be any attack skill you want (was using that cause I was helping a friend out in Kourna and ranger stances annoy me) and res sig can be replaced with whatever you want when you're soloing it up with h/h.

Melandru is really heavy on the energy so I use attacker's insight for some e-management. I find it helps quite a bit. Heart of fury can be replaced with Flail to help out even more with the energy issues you may have.

I generally use a zealous scythe of enchanting or fortitude. Either is fine really...if you want to be really efficient you will bring along a staff of enchanting for extra energy and to make your enchantments last a little longer and use a zealous scythe of fortitude as your main wep.

I always use a +1 scythe mastery hood so I can get as much damage as possible. Can always stick a minor mysticism rune somewhere else (Which is what I do).

I guess this would be a good build:

[Wearying Strike]
[Mystic Sweep]
[Chilling Victory]
[Avatar Of Melandru]
[Eternal Aura]
[Attacker's Insight]
[Heart Of Fury]
[Zealous Renewal]

Attacker's and Renewal help to deal with the high cost of Melandru's.

^^

take out attacker's insight, chilling victory, and zealous renewal.

Zealous renewal dosnt do anything anyways.
chilling victory isnt worth anywhere near 10 energy, victorious will do more.
attacker's insight is unessicary when you have no 10e attacks.

plus you need a spot for aura of holy might.
