I have just started up GW and to my surprise, my client said it had to repair GW, which took 5 minutes, then it took 15 minutes to download GW again completely, now on the load screen its downloading the original 20,000 files again...What the heck!?
My .dat file is well over 2gb and does not need re-downloading, how can I stop this and let it run from my .dat file? :S
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've only got a 1.5mb connection so it will take quite a while, as it's not even at 1%...
EDIT: Well...It looks like it has now created itself a new .dat file, which is quite annoying to say the least, because now I'll have to let it download using the "-image" trick at the end of the shortcut, that's exactly what I wanted to avoid! If this does happen again though, for whatever reason, because I had no problems prior to starting up GW, what is the best thing to do?
Client Redownloading ALL of GW again!?

Poo happens. The client failed while writing to the .dat, thereby corrupting it. The self-repair failed, thus necessitating a complete re-download.
That's what I suggest is most likely to have happened. It's a one-off, more than likely.

Delete both .dat(the old and new one). And reinstall via the latest cd you have to get the process going, then use the -image command switch. You can make a backup copy afterwards, in case it does happen again, though a corruption is fairly rare.

Well thanks for the replies guys, the -image download did take a while but everything is fine now and has been running for the past 2 days without any problems, and my .dat file is now backed up!
This can now be closed, thanks!
