Naturally.
Depends on what the full name will be. If he wants to call himself Assassin Bob, obviously that won't be a problem. If he wants to call himself Pain In The Ass, for example, he'll get away with it until someone finds it offensive, reports it and whoever is on the receiving end of support ends up agreeing with it and issues the temp ban.

| Now seeing as it is allowed in the character creation part, he wants to know if he would get suspended for such a name. |
It does't make a bit of sense to use a name that you know, is at best, marginal.
You and your friend both know this going in so don't post an 'I been usin this name for 2 years and have bunches of titles and they bopped me'
I sure a different, legal name, can be found that your friend can live with.

| I don't believe he will get in trouble as long as it does not insult or hurt anyone who reads the name. |
OP - Since you started this thread, you already KNOW that the name isn't gonna fly with the overall GW community. Save your friend the hassel and tell him to think of a better name.
'Ass' is not an insulting term, not direct anyway. If a report is the result, then you probably have to change the name, which is quite annoying if you have got any costumized items of some value. For because the name has been changed, you will not be able to use them again. besides that, if the name is insulting, you will not be able to name it that way, because of a spam filter that provides you from using insulting names. I don't think the problem is very high, for I've seen quite a few names with 'Hitler' in it, which is worse then 'ass'.

Ass 1. a long-eared, slow, patient, sure-footed domesticated mammal, Equus asinus, related to the horse, used chiefly as a beast of burden. 2. any wild species of the genus Equus, such as the onager. |
Though I have no doubt, they will make your buddy change such a name, if it is brought to their attention.
