Sorrows furnace question
ajc2123
What is the most effective way (By effective I mean shear amount of bosses available at a time) to farm Greens in sorrows furnace? Is there a certain quest that needs to be active or just going in without one? I hear some quests give less mobs then others so.....which results in the most bosses?

Most likely final assualt, in one quest you are un able to attack anything, one has little area, kilroys. The brother one has few bosses, same with the priest dudes one, Final assualt takes you right past all of them, has a pretty decent number of mobs though.

Galen Trask has no bosses. Actually, they are there, but as part of the quest, you are considered allies, and cannot attack them, nor they you.
High Priest Alkar has no bosses either.
Kilroy Stoneskin also has no bosses.
Orozar Highstone has a few. If I remember correctly, there are a total of 8 bosses in the Orozar quest.
Going in without a quest, the locations are random for WHICH boss is there, but there are always 12 bosses.
The Final Assault will give you 6 bosses, some of which only spawn in that quest, or in the no quest active method.
If you just want to farm a specific set of greens, I'd suggest looking up the boss that drops them on wiki, and seeing which quests they appear in. If you just want any green you can get, then the no quest option gives the most possibilities.

Some of the bosses also spawn in grenths footprint or watever its called, so it could be easier to farm them there if theres a specific one you are looking for and its right htere.

Btw, I hope you're not farming those greens to sell. There hasn't been a demand for SF greens since well before PvE Tombs was new.

Winston
They should tweak the Greens found in SF, make it worth doing again. Was one of my favourite spots.
Wishful thinking I guess.

The Red Messenger
people used to take a group of 5 into final assault quest.
group consisted of:
3 b/p rangers (each carrying a different spirit)
1 MM (using both bone fiends and close range minions)
1 Heal monk (WoH i think)
the rangers are very powerful due to most of the quest being on a downhill slope. little healing is needed if done right; most of the aggro goes for pets and minions. might be a little different now because pets make no corpses.

Just with no active quest and with hench/heros you can do a loop and hit 9 bosses (There may be more but this is a quick loop) one almost always walks under the thumper, Send the Hench and heros away before killing the bosses (TARGET CALL). If you can not kill a boss bring one hero to help. The less in radar the better chance for drop.
snaek
i remember old-school sf farming w/ keg tank, ss, mm, and 2 mo
50+minions ftw *sniff* *sniff* .___.
oro was the main farm
fa was 2nd most popular

Bosses killed by the 'thumpers' do not drop any loot.

No, Luny, it hasn't changed. But no one believes them. They attribute their normal lucky/unlucky fluctuations to "loot scaling."
I, of course, attribute mine to the phases of the moon. Much more sensible in my opinion - as my luck comes and goes like the tides.
On Topic - I would like to thank everyone for these SF details. I have never been there, but am planning a short trip this winter. My ranger has Zho's Journal and will eventually need SF to hatch the chick.

My drop luck is affected by my mini Charr Shaman. If he's in fight pose when the monster dies, it drops something good.
Darcy, you've been around way too long to not have explored SF! It's pure awesomeness! I can totally understand why the OP would go here to just enjoy the game. Be sure to turn the music up in there, it's addictive.
On topic, I think you should aim for the FA quest - with that quest active, you get access to the entire area, you get bosses that don't spawn any other time, and you get powder kegs. How can you go wrong?!?!
